So this happened the other day:
- Lamon Reccord was TVB'd in 005 yesterday 23MAR18. He was I-bonded and came back to grab his car which was awaiting impound and had a orange sticker on it. A couple PO's saw this and approached. Tried to arrest him and he began to struggle with officers. They lock him up and big Ed called the WOL and said to let him go now! He was RWOC. CB#019619680. I didn't read the arrest report because I wasn't sure if they look at who reads it.
- At roll call today 24MAR18, the arresting officers asked what happened with it and the WOL and SGT said to drop it and forget about it.
So if you have Special Ed on speed-dial, you can drive illegally AND avoid an impound AND resist/obstruct police officers when you attempt to liberate your impounded ride. Good to know.
Good to know the Sgt and Lt in 005 have no balls to stick up for their watch - where is Ed going to send you? You're in 005 for god's sake.

I know a sergeant who did stick up for his guys in 005. It cost him 15 days and a visit on the behavioral intervention system. The sergeant filed a grievance. The PB&PA refused to back up the Sergeant and disposed of the grievance.
Will everyone please just fucking stop doing anything pro-active?!! This is the result of it. You could be 100% correct and they will STILL NOT BACK YOU. Who gives a flying fuck anymore? Swiping is coming citywide, and sooner than you think. Morale is now measured in negative numbers, and the inmates are truly running things. Promotions to people that shouldn’t be on this job, and now, you catch an offender trying to reclaim his car after a suspended/revoked impound stop, and they let him go. Stop. Please. Stop.

Please read, and if you're unsure...read scc's post from the commenter again. He was I-bonded for the initial traffic violations which resulted in his vehicle being impounded. Upon leaving the station, the now I-bonded individual proceeds to regain custody of his vehicle that is now possessed by the Chicago Police dept and on City/CPD property. The individual disregarded the orange notice affixed to his driver side window. At which time, officers noticed the individuals actions and decided to perform their police duties, by attempting to place him into custody. The offender resisted. Now that he has a cb#, the Supe calls to have him released. Hence, i-bond then RWOC.
If his DL and Ins aren't up to snuff a friend of the police should report him to Uber.

chgo has to do away with s&s towing. private contractors should be used. set fees to tow and storage, bond required by driver for city expense of arrest and impound paper work. that system works. retired guy living in a different place, tow trucks respond in 15 minutes. had a neighbor who's son got caught shoplifting. towed car, $500.00 bond, $125 tow fee, 2 days storage @ $50 a day. you can ask for a hearing to get your $500 bond back but the local town gives you a form that says most likely you will lose and incur $500 in additional court fees. bazinga!
And this is the guy who gets up and tells the Officers that he has their back! Yea, he has your back alright - - - TO STICK A KNIFE IN IT! About a month ago, same kind of stuff happened at Midway airport. These "Kids" were caught stealing luggage from Southwest, they were detained for further investigation on other incidents. Their momma cries racism and calls Eric Carter. He calls the Sgt, and tells the Sgt to release these "kids" now. It sickened me to my stomach.
Another fine example of rhams choice for superintendent, remember fat head ed never even applied for the job. He was put there to keep rhams secrets and collect promotions for his girl and her friends. Retiring in east Atlanta will be the crown jewel in fat eds hat. He has already contacted a realtor and had seen several properties on line. They look like mansions.
I personally viewed this episode as a teaching moment.

In October Ed's nephew was involved in an incident (shot at?) outside his home while going to work. Nephew has a RAP sheet including misdemeanor UUW. Heard that for over a week there was a beat car, sector Sgt, and tact car on OT pulling event numbers as what is nothing less than a personal protection detail for the guy.
How can someone fight with the Police get rearrested and the officers are told to release him. Officers please, IOD, that's right, you got injured by this arrestee who was released by the Sup. Sue the motherfuckers, and take a vacation while on the medical.

Disconnect the battery and inventory as prisoner property, drop it in the bulk room for ERPS pickup in about 7-10 days.
The same as you would do if a laptop or a trombone that could easily be stolen from with a vehicle awaiting tow in a high crime area.
You’re going to get a number anyway, may as well take it by going by the book.

Because of possible Federal Crimes committed, he got the Fed's involved. The Detective told the Agent's that he believed Burke had inside information about the case. what would you expect the WOL to do after the order by a superior? The Sup could have ordered an I bond, a release of the tow and the charges dropped. I have even seen felony charges dropped after such calls. It is easy to criticize the WOL but if you were in that spot what would you have done?
This is not true. He was charged and assigned a court date, and sat in the back until his prints cleared.

If this is true and lemon boy fought with the Officers, there should be Officer Battery reports and IOD reports. The officers should have gone for medical treatment at the nearest ER(but not Roseland) for their injuries form lemon boy. The officers should be on the medical for an IOD, and be referred for further follow up treatment and/or physical therapy.
This scenario would leave an indisputable paper trail that would be hard to suppress by eddie.
The officers should seek justice in the civil court for their pain and suffering.
in other words. PUT A LIEN ON LEMON BOY! He may run for office or get some other gig handed to him by the liberals. Make him pay even if it is years form now.

The exact charge escapes me, but if your car gets impounded and you try and take it back and get caught, you get arrested.

Why should the superintendent of police be calling to help out a known criminal and police-hater? I don't care if he was littering, jaywalking, or driving without a license. He doesn't deserve special treatment or protection from person at the top of the law enforcement totem pole in Chicago. He's a piece of shit who should be prosecuted to the fullest extent possible for every single illegal act he commits. what would you expect the WOL to do after the order by a superior? The Sup could have ordered an I bond, a release of the tow and the charges dropped. I have even seen felony charges dropped after such calls. It is easy to criticize the WOL but if you were in that spot what would you have done?

I would have done my job. If the officers have probable cause to make an arrest, I would approve their arrest report and send the offender to the lockup. If the superintendent or anyone else wants to release him, they'd have to do so without me being a part of it. When a deputy called to suggest that I release someone without charging, I talked to the officers about what happened, agreed with them that the offender needed to be arrested, and that was exactly what happened. The deputy was smart enough not to try to order anyone to ignore the law and let offenders go free. He just asked if it was at all possible. He also said he understood if nothing could be done. I know our superintendent is a spineless moron, but ordering someone to be released without charging with no justification other than "he's my criminal buddy" isn't an order I'm going to follow, nor is it one I'd ever expect to be given. Our job is not to let criminals go free if they know the right person. Don't let rank scare you into doing the wrong thing. Illegal orders shouldn't be followed, because you'll be the one taking the fall for it. If the superintendent wants someone to get out of facing charges, he has the connections and the power to get it done without calling me.

(ie: back strain/injuries, pulled muscles sometimes begin to act up,days after injury.

Try the suburbs where they do arrest you....I had a friend who was actually arrested in Cicero for just an expired registration. Driving on suspended or revoked should always be an arrest, this way they felony upgrades can be done.
Lamon Reccord has been locked up numerous times. Just not by the CPD.
He is a driver for Uber per his social media posts. Uber requires a valid drivers license and valid insurance.
If he has no current drivers license, then his insurance is invalid as well. (Ins companies require a valid license)
Arrest for expired registration is only valid when insurance is not valid.
Doesn't FOP know any reporters who would love a story like this through back channels ? How about the Feds ? To whoever wrote this. You don't need to be arrested for suspended or revoked to get the upgrade... run the driver's abstract. They are still sent to traffic court anf convicted. They need a revocation or suspension from a DUI then a n additional suspension conviction to get the upgrade... you were close but not quite.

This has been happening forever in this City. Back in the late 90' Burke called and demanded to be informed about one of his political buddies who was being investigated for Arson for Profit. While Eddie Burke was putting pressure on the boss of the unit, the assigned Detective who was working the case knew what to do. Because of possible Federal Crimes committed, he got the Fed's involved. The Detective told the Agent's that he believed Burke had inside information about the case. That was the end of any more interference from Burke and his friend had to face the music.......

Well if we want to be clear, you should clarify that a second offense is a felony if and only if there is a previous conviction for a 501 (dui) or some sort of vehicular homicide and or leaving the scene of an accident which caused great bodily harm. Simply driving on a suspended or revoked license a 2nd,3rd and so on..., will never get approved in Cook county.

I wasn't there but if he went to take his car that he knew was in a secure lot and what was supposed to be towed and impounded then how about hitting him with Attempt theft charge since the car belongs to CPD until the fine is paid? Tampering with a motor vehicle charge? Criminal Trespass to land charge since the lot is clearly marked and posted with police vehicles and or personnel only signs? Resisting arrest charge? I'd like to see the WC comment section of the arrest report says.
