And as our data mining guy points out, he's been issued numerous Notices of Seizure and Final Determinations since 2009.
So maybe the the question should be, "Why did it take ten years to boot all this guy's cars?" Or, "Why are certain communities exempt from prompt and near-immediate booting when they get two unpaid tickets?"
Or would that make CBS uncomfortable?

The truth is these cars HAVE been booted in the past, just not all at the same time.
Therefore, $8,000 in tickets is just the tip of the iceberg. Maybe FOIA Finance Department for boot records on each plate or specific DL.

I pulled "Joe the debtors" bankruptcy filing, the Tribune must not fact check stories, total liabilities on form 106Sum are 347,957.00. Who in their right mind would give thousands of dollars in credit to this guy? Also, the [racist] parking tickets appear to be a small chunk of the debt owed. The petitioner lists his yearly income as 38, 576.04. The guy owes the IRS, the State income tax money, and has an unpaid water bill. Why do officers get sent to see the WOL with a bill one month overdue and this guy owes 1700.00 in unpaid water bills. Oh and Tribune did not fact check this his bankruptcy case 17 B 37106 was motioned for dismissal in October. Can you guess the reason? For failure to make payments. OT: late a few nights ago I had to run into Walmart for something. As I entered the store, I saw a very nice looking Indian or Hispanic man probably around 50 on his knees scraping the floor with a putty knife like tool. He was a Walmart worker and most likely scrapping off gum and other things that accumulated on the floor. As I walked in, he looked up and i got the feeling he was embarrassed. He probably had children at home that he was supporting by doing a job that he probably thought he would never end up doing. Scrapping floors at Walmart in the middle of the night. At that moment I wished so bad that I was rich to be able to give him some money to help him out. I didn’t end up saying anything and just walked by, but I wanted so badly to go up to him and tell him that I was proud of him. He was doing whatever it took to provide for his family. I wondered if his family appreciates what he’s doing for them? There’s a lot of good decent hard working people in the city that are just trying to get by. Sometimes I need to remember just how lucky I am to have this job to support my family.
Just like the jails with too many people of color there would be too many cars of people of color booted. You still don't get it. The current laws do not apply to people of color. They are all racist. With the new Black Nationalist, what ever that is, you will see a new set of people of color laws written. The only fair way.

Hard to believe. More to the story. I think most people have paid two days late, had a check lost in the mail, never received their bill and never had their electricity turned off. A few months ago I never received a bill and didn’t pay my bill for that month. The only way I found out was when the next months bill came, both were on that bill
To the guy talking about walmart workers did you ever think maybe the guy should have pursued an education so he didnt have to scrape floors. Or planned his life out a little better.

Uh, bucko, did you happen to forget to mention that that ComEd bill you didn't pay by due date was a Final Notice before terminating service?
Because I routinely miss a monthly bill, amount due added as late charges apply to the next month's bill, and, even if I pay late on THAT bill, the next one gets a thank you for paying plus added charges of a few bucks plus whatever isvthst month's current usage reading.
