And the Corruption Continues

Information pops up in the oddest places - places an enterprising reporter once may have thought to look:
  • So, my real estate developer buddy attended a meeting with sterling bay. They’re developing the old north and throop and property. The developer wants $800 million in tif money. They’re also building a huge concert property for live nation. It turns out Jb pritzker owns 50% of that and Rahms brother Ari owns a good chunk as well. Business as usual here in Chicago. Carry on...
$800 million that could have gone to shore up pensions or even cover retiree health care, instead, moved around to a connected party who happens to be connected to Rahm and BJ.

"Carry on" indeed."

In October 2015 venture capitalist Henry Feinberg
emailed Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel:

“Since when did Rahm Emanuel let a judicial ruling get
in his way and not find a creative work-around solution?”

Emanuel replied:
“Never. Which is why I eliminated retiree health care.
Only elected official to eliminate — not cut or reform — a benefit.
Thank you very much. A $175 million saving!”

If Sterling Bay gets ONE RED-ASS FUCKING CENT of
taxpayer treasure for THIS SHIT, Rahm "Tutu Wearing Sissy" Emanuel
should be sent to the the fucking gallows...

If DOJ was actually worth a shit between two shoes
on the wrong fucking feet, they would have blown
the fucking roof off City Hall a LOOOOOONG time ago.

We have no Hell to condemn Rahm Emanuel to, but...

JB doesn’t own any part of LiveNation. However, Ari Emanuel sits on its board, and although his ownership stake is unclear, he would benefit from having WME booking the acts that come through.

So, your developer buddy is not completely right. Kind of right about some things, but...no matter what, fuck Rahm. He is tight with Sterling Bay and the sooner someone gets the FBI involved, the quicker all of Rahm’s friends and family stop benefiting from us.

LOS ANGELES — Terry Crews has openly spoken about his allegations of sexual assault against William Morris Endeavor (WME) executive Adam Venit, and now he's taking things a step further. The actor alleges talent agents at William Morris Endeavor "knowingly permitted and encouraged to engage in sexually predatory conduct" in a lawsuit filed Tuesday against the agency and Venit.

The lawsuit recounts Crews' allegations that agent Adam Venit groped him at the Hollywood party last year and details the actor's efforts to see Venit disciplined after the incident. Crews complained about Venit to agency chairman Ari Emanuel, and the two men have retaliated against him for going public with his allegations, the lawsuit states.

Male on male predatory sexual assaults against an N.F.L. player. All at a time when sexual assaults matter. And the mayor of Chicago’s very own brother, Ari Emanuel, retaliated on a male of color’s outcry for monetary justice. No public money for those who are associated with and condone unwanted sexual assaults and male on male groping.

An April 2002 lawsuit by agent Sandra Epstein against Endeavor Agency brought forth accusations by Epstein and other Endeavor employees against Ari Emanuel. In the court filings, Emanuel is alleged to have allowed a friend to operate a pornographic website out of Endeavor's offices. According to Epstein, Emanuel made racist and anti-gay remarks and prevented her from sending a script about Navy SEALs to actor Wesley Snipes, saying: "That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Everyone knows that blacks don't swim." Emanuel disputed these accusations at the time. Epstein's claims were settled for $2.25 million.

Where is Code Pink, the NAACP, Jesse Jackson SR., Al Sharpton and the Me Too movement? No T.I.F. public money for a connected misogynist, homophobic and racist democratic supporter in Hollywood. Racist comments, degradation of women by a declared democrat man in power and anti-gay remarks. Where is the outrage? And the new governor financially associates and colludes with that court documented racist, homophobe and man who denies women access into power. Shame on you JB and all those extremist left wing single issue groups.

Sterling Bay doesn't need TIF money. They just purchased the Prudential building and the non residential portion of the Hancock building. They own hundreds of other buildings in Chicago including the new headquarters of McDonald's. The principal of Sterling Bay is Keating Crown. He is the grandson of Lester Crown. Lester is worth more than JB. Live Nation's stock is in the mid fifty dollars per share range. Wall Street Journal reported the CEO of Live Nation made 70 million in 2017. So... The broke City that can't pay it's bills is going to give billionaires money. That's beautiful

Alderman says Chicago Cubs ownership looking to take him out of the (political) ballgame

https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/politics/ct-met-ricketts-family-44th-ward-20181108-story.html

Excerpt:
Workers on cherry pickers rose up along the facade of the ballpark itself, carrying out the latest renovations in a yearslong modernization.

“When they say I’m standing in their way, all I can say is ‘Are you kidding?’ ” Tunney asked, raising his arms to take in the new construction.

(Funny shit bet he said "Don't you know who I am?")

“I don’t know what more we can do for these guys,” Tunney said. “They’ve gotten the OK for all these huge projects, and I just want to be sure I’m sticking up for the whole ward. I’m a pro-business alderman.”

(gee whiz alderthief maybe they decided the "going rate" for payoffs was to high could that be it? Or maybe are you being investigated by the feds like many in the most corrupt city council are and they don't want to be dragged into court affiliated with you could that be why?).

Just pay the money, no fines, late fees, etc... what about the extra money other people had to pay to make up for the theft? What about the lawyers and employees in the Assessors office that looked the other Way? Nice government we have here. Troubling information if true. Hopefully, Feds will sniff around. Would be nice if Kass could pick up on this. Needs the light of day.

If I understand how TIF works, that money is designated for development and can not be used for pensions.

Another sad example of the misuse of power by the ruling class which then fuels extremism on both sides of the political spectrum.

Firstly the failing CPS and CTA will be cutting the line sticking their hands out for operating expenses...again.
Even though that 2% CTU pension contribution and vote guarantor is solid and reliable since the failing basic arithmetic CPS writes their own tax levy check every year.

I don’t know if Chicago has $800 million is even in the entire slush fund TIF bank account, but sure as shit Rahm may have already promised that fund deal to Sterling no matter what.
Now that the AmazRahm New Deal is awash, land wrangling will pick up and shady deals will fast track via a select group of Rahm favored Alderthieves.

When real estate developer and current 45th President of the United States Donald J. Trump decided to buy the failing SunTimes property in 2004, he plunked down $73 million on the barrel head - No TIF, not even for the subsequent $650 mil for site demo, development and construction.
Think of all the jobs it created then and all the sustaining jobs and revenue it brings to the city...which a good portion goes back into Chicago TIF’s that are raided by broken promises of colonization developers.

I don’t know what the failing SunTimes received for that 28th & Ashland wasteland property they built as their new printing distribution facility, by the way has been shuttered since 2014 when sold for $14 mil for redevelopment. Expect the Trib will follow through with the residential colonization trend with their riverfront property at Chicago & Halsted very soon.

And if y’all didn’t know already, I remind you that Sterling Bay owns the $104 mil North & Throop garage property as well as the 4 mile riverfront stretch north and south of it. We’re gonna need a bigger TIF boat.

All those properties and once built, will not be taxed for 23 years or like the rest of us, but we will be paying for their benefits.
One third of collected tax revenues are deposited into TIF and a majority is doled out to real estate developers that do not use their own money or pay any costs for doing any streets, alleys, sewers, electricals. Sterling won’t be paying into TIF. Same with the obamaLieberry.
Try getting that deal when you want to put a second story in that NW side bungalow. Where’s your handout?

Record TIF money was collected last year and steady growth of that slush fund previously diverted from the taxpayers has Sterling Bay written all over it. May as well name the the executor of the account.

I just hope the Fed Raid on 14thWard Burke finds development deals which will lead to many of sleepless nights for about 5-6 current Alderthieves, The Sterling Bay Players of 2, 27, 32, 43 maybe even a few a little to the west and south.
So much is hiding and nobody checking the Chicago Cook County Way.

And the Democrats want to re-re-reinvestigate the President of the USA during the next 2 years.

Is there anything in the law that says it can't be used to line the pockets of corrupt businessmen and politicians? Or does the law specifically state that is exactly what TIF funds are for? There's plenty of other money that could be used for pensions that is being used for things like parks and museums and other nonsense, all to help out the corrupt politicians' buddies. That's the point here, not specifically the TIF money. This is just another example of the same shit.
