People are wondering if the "pay to promote" rumors in the CPD are true. Why wouldn't they be? It's everywhere else:
- O’Hare International Airport motor truck drivers got overtime, equipment and job assignments in exchange for political work, some performed on city time, and those who refused faced “extreme retaliation,” a new lawsuit contends.
In a Nov. 17 lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court, drivers Hector Hernandez and Charles Termini accuse Deputy Aviation Commissioner William Helm and airport managers Joseph Alesia and Kevin Martin of carrying out the scheme that violated their constitutional rights and deprived the drivers of tens of thousands of dollars in annual overtime pay.
This is exactly why Royko proposed changing the City motto from "Urbs in Horto" (City in a Garden) to "Ubi est Mea" (Where's Mine?" He wasn't kidding.

This whole page is nothing and has always been sour grapes for the guys who have never been able to get any type of promotion either by legit test score, merit or any other way. If you got promoted then it’s because of who you know, who you paid, who you studyied with or you cheated. Even a guy who scores 400 on a test gets bashed these days as illigitimare and must have cheated... yep, heard it the other day. Saying a guy who’s number was round 400 must have cheated. Had all the answers and still gets 400??? Nope. Just jealousy and stupidity on this job. The job is swirling down the toilet not because of the new kids but because of the bitter hacks with no lives and nothing to hang their hat on in life except being a cop and telling people about their seniority every 20 minutes.

They forgot to use legitimate in front of overtime pay after all all the overtime is legit, right? Not to worry the tax payers will pick up the tab for the corruption in the city, county and state they have forever so why stop now.
Helm and Martin are both boot licking political hacks and drunks squeeze them they’ll flip...
The walls are going to be a-tumbling down since Rahm is leaving. The next mayor will simply build new ones.
I wonder if the federal authorities will be looking into this also? Let’s hope and pray that the swamp is finally going to be gutted in many of the elected will be put on the federal bus directly to the federal court house.

Should change that old city motto of The City That Works to The City That Pays To Work. A classic Democratic tradition now named the Chicago Way. Even as a child in the 50-60s knew this was the MO for any city jobs. Chicago could put ant third world corrupt political entity to shame. Graft and corruption at every level unrivaled in any American big city. But the brain dead and the actual dead keep these tools in power. Guess you deserve what your getting or not getting from your government. So to all Chicagoans I say STFU and enjoy the screwing.

One of the most honest remarks that I have read on this blog in a very long time.
we don't want nobody nobody sent.
especially the scores at the top of the class.
Why reform afterall Chicago is The City That Works. Clout works, playoffs work, threats and intimidation work why change.
O’Hare a political wonderland?
10 billion dollars so far for a modernization and they aren’t even thinking about the halfway done part yet.
As long as there’s money coming in from the contractor to the elected, the workers have to deliver.
Overtime and assignments always go to the favorites.
Whether you’re pushing chemical tainted snow or shuffling papers in an toasty office, whether a truck driving laborer or the police/security.
Sometimes fairness prevails and “bellyacher where’s mine” always been be a seniority issue too.
I knew of a truck driver that was dumped from Ohare to the Ward S&S, so it happens.
Anyone with a little sense should be glad they’re at OHare, because that new facility being built in The Englewoods is going to need some staffing.

........say the merit hacks who stole someone else's promotion. Sleep well my friends, or at least try. Not earned, but given. Because if you earned it you wouldn't have that opinion.
I know of a truck driver who was dumped from Streets and San to OHare...fck up in one spot, have the juice to get another....nothing new here in Chicago

Add Berwyn PD to the “pay to play” list with Chicago PD and their recent merit allegations along with the corrupt Dept of Aviation brass. The fbi has been investigating BPD for the sale of the mayors political tickets at the station in exchange for padded overtime and if you pay a little more you get appointed to specialty units or as watch or division commanders or even chief while running the mayors campaign and political outings. Typical crook county and demoRATic corruption............. We all hate working at this fu——ed up police dept. Hope the feds put all these corrupt jag—-s in orange jump suits!
