So the chain is rising why did the judge in VanDyke case not allow the "high ranking" staff to be called in? We had a no clout regular blue shirt on trail and yet the judge barred the bosses,and many rapidly retired with 6 figure pensions who agreed good shooting! Political clout on display, now we have Jason sitting in a cell,waiting for the sentencing, while the "bosses" are gone can you say "collusion?"

it would be funny if not true, the cost for exempt rank is yearly about $10,000, and you either buy fund raising tickets (Or have a secret lackey do it), or you "donate" nothing is free this is why this department is in such terrible shape with leaders that are not qualified to even sell a newspaper or shine shoes!

That want to be in tac just off probation. I remember when I started,I wouldn't have the audacity to demand anything. Now we have babies that know it all.

Was having breakfast today and watching Bush Funeral in 001 and had the honor of meeting Sheriff David Clarke. He is an absolute gentleman and a very tall and intimidating guy. He said expect to see a lot of him around, and thanked us for our service in an ungrateful hostile environment.

It is not strong arming. Rather buy a ticket and show support for the retirees. This has been going on for the last 40 years that I know of. Be supportive to the unit.

Retired and thankful to be so.
I tell all citizens on calls they are not getting their dollars worth for the taxes they pay... taxes should be 1/3 of the rate given the return in city services. I encourage anyone to move out of state if they can— everyone knows I am right. They don’t even argue with me.
There’s a 5 year wonder who (had a heavy phone call) and made merit detective very recently.
However, when he hit the area he was assigned to midnights.
Surprisingly enough, “midnights didn’t work for him”, so his whack that got him made had to call and Rt him assigned to more suitable hours for him- on 2nd watch.
The entitlement never ends, and this department is disgusting.
Not even just getting to choose your promotion and being happy, you have to cry and choose your watch too.
Unbelievable.
OT. Who else heard that little s**t Lt 1260 screaming at the zone because his guys actually had to do some work yesterday.

That Lt has been instrumental in bringing property crimes down in the northern end of the District, so he can yell all he wants. But I’m guessing this a BS post by some dogass he’s launched out of tact.
Drop the college requirement, polygraph and hair drug testing plus be lenient on credit scores if due to layoff or job loss there will be no shortage of applicants!
So glad I left that circus for the burbs. I'll be even happier once I'm out of law enforcement altogether. Almost done with schooling. Goodbye policing once done.

What exactly has the Lt done that was instrumental in bringing property crimes down? What kind of numbers are we talking? What makes you think the Lt was responsible for the drop in property crimes rather than dozens of other factors? What will you say when those property crimes increase again? What was he yelling about, and how does any of it relate to property crimes? He could cure cancer and it wouldn't be an excuse for screaming and crying on the radio because his special teams are being called for jobs.

You work at the academy. No one feels bad for you. If you don't want to go to the party, don't be surprised when you're back in a district. You're not special and you can be easily replaced. If you like your lapdog spot, be a good little lapdog and buy a ticket.

Time due isn't a reward for buying a ticket to the Christmas party. Commanders don't need POs to buy them gifts, especially if they're being forced to do it, and especially since that directly violates general orders. Be supportive of the unit? Get a clue. It's a dog and pony show to stroke the commander and people are constantly pressured and threatened to participate. Just because something has been going on for 40 years, doesn't mean it should be going on at all. You are exactly what's wrong with this department. Keep buying into their bullshit and caving to their pressure. I'm sure you'll get rewarded for your loyalty and monetary support.

midnights, which didn’t work out for her.
She tells the commander that she had been trying to get
pregnant, but she only ovulates between 23:00 and 08:00 hours,
so she can’t work midnights.
She was put on 3rd watch.
She pulled the same excuse the following year,
and stayed on afternoons.
The next test she tried it and was told, get pregnant iryoyr
going to first watch, and viola , she gets pregnant.
