- A 29-year-old man sidelined a New Year’s Eve robbery in Logan Square by shooting the two suspects he said tried to rob him, Chicago police said.
Around 9:40 p.m. in the 2900 block of West Cortland Street, two male suspects with handguns got out of a silver Nissan and told the man they were robbing him, police said. The man, who is a concealed carry license and firearm owner’s identification card holder, shot both suspects, police said. They were taken to local hospitals and stabilized.
Further information was not released.
We have a feeling it's going to start happening even closer to downtown in short order, and it's going to cost Crimesha and Prickwrinkle voters.

Lightfoot gets my vote between her and Preckwinkle because she is the less competent of the two and I believe she will be over her head if elected which is better for us. Preckwinkle is dangerous but here's the thing, I can't imagine either of them pushing any numbers games from the Commanders.
If cops want to go out and be proactive then I don't feel sorry for them if they get jammed up and are used by Mayor Lightfoot or Preckwinkle and made an example of. Just go to your jobs and code them. It's short-sighted to go above and beyond so you can claim to be 'The Real Police,' which has always been a stupid term. Their F1 driver took them to Norwegian where they were stitched and released, put in shackles and taken to Area Central.
Looks like they did an earlier robbery at Wood and Division and may be responsible for other recent robberies in 012.

Looked for it in the news, could not find any print on the shooting. Here's a guy that's not the police and takes on two armed robber's. Sound like he did it right, during the commission of the robbery and I hope there is permanent psychical damage from their wounds. Good story and ending, makes my day.

A traffic court judge ruled that Gary McCarthy had blocked vehicular traffic with his police-issued car while he and his wife confronted two plainclothes members of the Palisades Interstate Police at a gas station along the Palisades Interstate Parkway. The officers in question had just issued a summons to McCarthy’s 19-year-old daughter, who was driving another car and became verbally confrontational toward the two police officers whom in essence were enforcing the law. When Gary McCarthy had arrived on scene he was clearly irate and violently confrontational and had to be grabbed by the two police officers whom also confiscated McCarthy’s firearm and handcuffed him as well as restrained his wife when she attempted to grab the gun from the two police officers. The judge fined McCarthy $200 for blocking traffic.
NOTE: Had this incident occurred in New York City to an NYPD Police Officer the individual in question would be charged with Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, Assault on a Police Officer, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. That is not even including the possibility of driving while intoxicated. Now mind you that is just the charges faced by an average civilian. McCarthy was acting as representative of the New York City Police Department so imagine when the next incident occurs, in what capacity is he going to be acting when he is elected mayor of chicago

Cold thread, but still wanting to ask. As a civilian with middling weapons experience, wondering about owning a firearm ... Is it truly safe to own and use in my defense, and under what circumstances? I have no problem with range-time and appropriate training. This is as it should be ...
But I wonder about a "civilian shooting review board" in the future? And I imagine the nightmare that would be. Could the State/City raise the costs associated with carrying and using so high that individuals would be intimidated out of their Second Amendment rights? Could savvy lawyers take me to court, claiming that my response was excessive? Would the "court of opinion" convict me because of the actions of some "misguided youth"? All these things run through my head. They're extreme cases, but not THAT extreme. Recall the Wilmette case a few years back.
FWIW – I routinely carry the Kimber tear gas "gun" whenever I'm in the city, and I keep it handy when I drive. My thought is to minimize the risk of my actions while giving me a non-lethal choice.

All true, but as long as the demon-rat machine owns the board of elections, the courts, and holds the purse strings over the police, NOTHING will change. Eddie Johnson, Gloria Hanna and Davina Ward stepped in it again.
The story about some guys making a UUW pinch at about 2320, then was directed by Ward, Rodney Hill and Hanna to falsify the report to make it look like the years first UUW arrest is true.
Instead of initiating a complaint against all involved, Johnson blew a gasket and went along with the lie.
You would think that those three, with their bey of ethical and possibly illegal misconducts would be walking the straight and narrow, but no.
Johnson is already targeted for termination by two of the most prominent mayoral candidates for hiding misconduct.
Johnson approved the McDonald report and threw the other bosses under the boss.
Johnson's wife Lt. Fenner is already being looked at for fraud and cheating on the lieutenant exam.
Hanna, who comes from IAD, already has pending investigations lodged against her.
Ward ,also from IAD is targeted for promotional test cheating , and for harassing some elderly woman. FBI, IAD and IG complaints are underway.
You would think those three, with their baggage and history would fly right, but no.

So the Superintendent sends out to patrol that he will be visiting the District of the first UUW of 2019. Low and behold the Third District magically has a UUW at 1201. One minute into the new year. That’s great. Except it’s a lie.
The arresting officers were told to hold the arrest until 1201 to ensure Eddie’s visit. Who would tell these officers to lie? It was Commander Hanna and Lieutenant Ward. These two were looking for selfish recognition at the expense of false reports, and both were former IAD. What a joke.

And there’s the proof right there for all to see that the bosses could give a shit about POs. They know they will never be on the hook for falsifying the reports. They will simply deny it. OT Now that they've traced the threat against COPA to one of their own employees and are asking for felony charges, are they going to overturn all the sustained investigations that employee worked on? After all, they drop all the criminal cases when an officer gets arrested.
