- Two women were forced to the ground, pistol-whipped in their faces, and robbed overnight in the Lakeview neighborhood, according to Chicago police. No one is in custody.
The victims, both 26, said they were walking in the 1200 block of West Roscoe around midnight Sunday when two men wearing ski masks ran toward them and ordered them to lie down while threatening them with a handgun.
Both women were then struck in the face with the gun—one strike was so powerful, it broke the barrel off of the weapon, according to a police officer who was at the scene.
Putting the victims on the ground and beating them in the face - that's some deep-seated hatred right there. And hard enough to break the barrel off the gun? Maybe it was just a cheap gun.

Arent you missing the point? THey were beat in the face with an object. That demonstrates a level of anger, hatred, whatever you want to call it for the victim.
To make matters worse, the offender's momma will probably get a $100 gift card from the city for turning in the rest of the broken gun.

Sometimes I think the robbery is just an excuse for something else.
What's sickening about these crimes isn't that they go unpunished, but that the hatred behind them goes willfully unrecognized.
Let me guess ... the woman where white. Nothing to report then even if their faces where crushed in and their teeth where severely rearranged. What’s important is if an ok symbol with no corresponding racist remarks was made behind Doug Glanville. Let’s keep the important crime in the news.
