Rumors!

Someone put a lot of thought into this one:
  • From the file of WOW, the Feds are being suddenly inundated with years of anonymous recordings of essentially any backroom deal done in the city and state the last 30 years. Word is Burke and his minions have everything they’ve ever dealt with caught by their own recordings. Think of the wheeling dealing to get an unknown, unqualified feminine neighborhood organizer anointed or the high level embarrassing conversations about a dope deal gone wrong in boys town with a very public assholes son. The absolute shakedown with the attempts to build, “The Spire” could cost pols past and present some sleepless nights and the Olympic Bid Boondoggle was right out the the 1930’s Chicago. If Burke goes down he’s bringing everybody down and don’t think our Judges will be exempt. For the record he loathed the Asshole in the 45th Ward and took glee in him losing. In the end Danny Solis is going to come out looking like a horny alterboy after some of the real dirt hits.
All great rumors have a sliver of truth within, and Burke has been mysteriously bulletproof for years, even after mob lawyer/fixer Bob Cooley pretty much told his story in "When Corruption Was King." Burke obviously knows all sorts of stories. Having an "insurance policy" isn't outside of the realm of possibilities.

I wouldn't put it past this clown to have recorded stuff but 30 yrs worth on VCR tapes and audio cassettes? Where's this stuff stored? In and underground bunker somewhere in the middle of the Vegas desert? Unless everything been transferred to DVD or MP3 files the quality can't be that great after 30 yrs let alone the physical condition of the tapes

How many of these crimes are still actionable? Wouldn’t most be past the statute of limitations?
I think everything except murder has a five or eight years limit?
Is there an exception if they can show these old crimes are part of a continuing criminal enterprise?

Does anyone think the feds will release the tapes? That would be unethical. And illegal?

One can only continue to hope and pray that the Feds rescue the honest citizens of Chicago cook county who have been living in this corruption forever. Whatever corruption the Feds uncover it’s really 100 times that. The city and county need to be taken over and rebuilt. Everyone out and a US Attorney outside Chicago needs to rebuild the political system. From politicians to judges to each and every agency. all need to be rebuilt. Corruption is in everything.

Don't forget Illinois supreme court judge Ann Burke, Eds wife, warned her fellow justices that their decision in the Rahm Emanual residency case would make Chicago's residency requirement for employees unenforceable. It's plainly worded in her decision and easily available to read.

How funny would it be if as a couple they decide to burn it to ground on their way out the door?

Land, development, real estate taxes...everyone is an attorney-alderman and they are sweating.

With the developer (Cui, who practices immigration law) that was indicted last month had a TIF deal going with Burke and needed a promised sign pole for Binny’s, a tenant in his building. Cui couldn’t budge Section8Arena so he went to Burke.

Could this be that Section8Arena tried and couldn’t shake him or another developer down with the Binny’s building, the Six Corner Sears building, and a 10 story old folks home across the street?
Lots of shenanigans went on in the 45th Ward. Section8Arena could be next in line at 219 S. Dearborn.
For the record, Cui had donated $18,000 to Section8Arena and LightLoafer got $500.

Someone’s talking that’s for sure.
Rahm likely got word from obama holdovers and will be gone in just 15 days.

To 5/05/2019 07:00:00. No one is giving Bob Cooley attributes including SCC.
What they are saying is that IF you read Cooley’s ‘tell all’ book you would have found, like everyone else who read the last chapter, that he goes into great detail on how and why BOTH Ed and his ISC Justice wife should likewise be in jail along with all the other people that he helped the Feds convict.
To quote yourself....

Spent my whole career as an FBI Agent assigned to Chicago. I am still in close contact with the bulk of my old partners and they have the "Green Light" from D.C. to bring down a LARGE chunk of Chicagos Alderman, and both Democrat and Republicans in State Government. Ed Burke is just a root in a tree in in a rotten forest and he's got massive documentation both oral and written on everything. Expect lobbyists to the next major wave of indictments people are following the money. Most gloriously a recent "retirement" from Congress and the most corrupt politician since Huey Long has about the same amount of manpower assigned to it as the Dillingers Squads in the 1920's. Chicago is finally about to get real reform, 3/4 of the current Alderman are in the crosshairs. To the great Men and Women of the Chicago Police, stay strong, although I am a "Fed" I spent so many great times with task forces of the bravest and toughest people I've ever met in your ranks fighting an impossible battle. To the people who don't like Mayor Lightfoot, please give her time she's told the Feds to run with the ball for real change in the city. Be safe and I've always been a major fan of your blog.

Statute of limitations for official misconduct is based on when the crime is discovered. At least at the state level. There are different applicable charges at the federal level but I'm not sure what timeframes they have.

According to the by- laws which our organization is made of a field representative is entitled to E5 pay . If the by- law is concise and clear you follow the by-law and if the by-law is vague and ambiguous then you follow the past practice .Vague means unclear and ambiguous means having more than one meaning . Pat Murray paid into his pension for thirty years at a nine per cent rate each year . The FOP contributed zero to it . The by-law is clear and does not state you subtract your pension from your salary . Think about it you finally achieve a
Pension and then you don’t get it at all ? When you receive a cola subtract 3% more each year . Pat Murray attempted to resolve this by taking less money but it was rejected . Think about it you finally get to a point where you get a pension and poof it’s gone ? It’s election time at the FOP!!!!

I seem to recall that there is some sort of statute called continuing criminal conspiracy. If a pattern of corruption is detected, but is still continuing, I think it can be enforced from the beginning without regard for the limitations provisions.

I highly doubt most or any of this. I have heard rumors of this type before and all of them fizzled out. I will believe it when I see it. Burke has been pretty smart in his dealings and rarely makes stupid mistakes. Lets see that the Feds have on him. We will know by the end of June when all indictments have to be filed. Something tells me that this is " much ado about nothing". But, in the outside chance that this has some traction ( an alderman did wear a wire for a couple of years, afterall), then I would say Burke will spill his guts rather then spend the rest of his life in the joint.
