Our Offer, Once Again
Back in December of 2015, while Rahm was plotting to draft Special Ed into a spot he didn't apply for, we made an offer that would have (A) saved Rahm a shitload of money, (B) brought a level of professionalism to the Department unseen in decades and (C) been a bunch of fun for everyone:
We humbly offer our services to the Chicago Police Department as Superintendent of Police.
And rather than waste everyone's time pretending the Police Board actually "reads" the massive amounts of essays and such that will be submitted, we offer the following:
- We have an opinion on just about everything (see our written works);
- We support the rule of law, the Rights of all, and the Constitution;
- We're pretty damn smart;
- We use words like "integrity" and "diversity" and actually know what they mean;
- We don't tolerate fools.
It's the only solution. You have our e-mail. We await your letter.
- We will take the job for a guaranteed 3 years time frame - no ifs ands or buts. An option for an additional two years upon mutual agreement. All money will be paid in advance because we don't trust Rahm's accounting practices. This will be in contract form, vetted by legal experts of our choosing from out-of-state.
- We shall accept a salary of $1 less than the mayor, because you shouldn't make more than your boss.
- We will receive in writing, signed by the Police Board and mayor, a blanket exoneration of all CR's from the beginning of our term of office and retroactively backward regarding any and all complaints about the blog. We know there are a few, including IAD's illegal First Amendment investigation into Constitutionally guaranteed Free Speech during our off-duty hours. The former lieutenant (now commander) who initiated will be publicly caned with a rod made out of rolled-up facsimiles of the Constitution. This item is non-negotiable.
- We will guarantee a first-year savings in operational costs of no less than $15 million dollars.
- Carte Blanche in appointing our command staff - that means no input from the mayor, the aldercreatures, the Machine (city or county or Springfield), the "revrunds," the media, the ACLU (and other legal entities) or the feds. We will vouch for their ability and integrity. And believe us, our picks will be far superior to anything currently serving in an exempt capacity.
Seriously Groot - what have you got to lose? And caning Barb West with rolled up copies of the Constitution would still be awesome.

First of all you cannot have your own opinions as Superintendent, police are to remain neutral. You will receive the official viewpoint from the Cook County Democratic Central Committee which is the official mindset for all. And never write you opinions down, what it you want to change them after you see which way the wind will be blowing?
Supporting the rule of law and the Constitution is so old fashioned, don’t you know there is a new world order sweeping the Nation in the enforcement of laws. The guilty are now innocent and those who enforce laws are now guilty. Eliminate incarceration and punishment.

Some time ago on the westside, at 0200 hrs, a P.O. named Barbie West was sound asleep in the hole, the hole was known as a commonplace copper' slept on midnights. The old Inspector, nka as Big Bird went to the spot and found Barb in dreamland, with not one but two pillows and a quilt. His attempts to wake her up was not happening and she yelled that she was down of a station assignment and to leave her the fuck alone. The good Bird called the station for the Capt, Paddy Clark...he was already in bed at home and no Lt was working.
The story goes on that Barbie got up after the Bird left to start shit in the station. When he ran the no beat tag and car number it showed no one was using it. He goes into the parking lot and finds the squad and the engine was red hot. Barbie disappeared and further investigation revealed she was T.D that watch. All the other copper' told the bird that she was working.
I got along with the Bird and he told me this story. I laughed my ass off. Bird thought he had a mini-stroke not knowing how she did an exit left so fast. The Inspector went inside the car and found goose feathers and the smell of cheap-ass ghetto perfume.
The next day he confronts Capt Clark and Paddy tells him she does what she wants as he laughed his ass off.
The next month she was promoted to Sgt. Big Bird want her bad and failed. She was at headquarters at 1100 south State St after being mia for 90 percent of sgt' training.
Barb is slick so dont count her out !!

OT: Bill Helm was named in search warrants served on the offices of Sandoval and Tobolski, a political ally of Helm. Tobolski also is mayor of McCook.
Records show Sandoval invited Helm to his son’s wedding and that Helm emailed Sandoval about a federal lawsuit filed by two O’Hare truck drivers who said Helm pushed them to do political work for, among others, former Mayor Rahm Emanuel and ex-Ald. Patrick O’Connor while on the job for the city.

CPD could go a long way in focusing on violent crime and solvable offenses by promoting a "triage reporting system," which would allow beat cops to arrive on the scene (e.g., burglary, theft, damage to property, etc), and assess the situation then make an official "triage release" that allows the citizen to make an on-line report with pictures and narrative under oath to describe the complaint and allow the officers to go about their business instead of officers and OEMC avoiding the call for fear of unnecessary paperwork on offenses unlikely to be immediately solved.

We could a helluva a lot worse than Chief Ziman. She backs her officers and is a straight shooter (pun intended). The way she carried herself and represented her dept on the day of the mass shooting was exemplary. All the officers I know from Aurora speak highly of her.

So if someone has a masters in early english literature, or a doctorate in basket weaving, they could run a big city Police Department, with their hands tied about who to promote, and who to take care of, better than short bus Ed? From my buddy in the law department with knowledge of the Beck deal: he gets a one year “interim” deal, $8500 a week salary plus $5k a month housing expenses. One year of the city health insurance and no pension contribution but a 3 months severance at the end. Groot wants a female superintendent (from the outside) sorry west and staples...Groot met with Chief Zimen from Aurora (who is also gay and married) and personally invited her to apply. So off to the races we go 😳

We could a helluva a lot worse than Chief Ziman. She backs her officers and is a straight shooter (pun intended). The way she carried herself and represented her dept on the day of the mass shooting was exemplary. All the officers I know from Aurora speak highly of her.

If Officers are required to leave the department at the mandatory age of 63 why is someone able to be hired as "interim" Superintendent of the Police Department be older than 63, Does the mandatory age requirement only enforced for P.O.s. Are there two sets of rules?

Yes. One for sworn and one for civilian. He's going to be interim as a civilian, not sworn.

What you saw in the video is a future 007 District Commander. I want to see a non clouted LT. act the same way. COPA would have s/he long formed the next day for assault and unbecoming. If you don’t have any clout it’s best to not leave the office. Ignore the assholes. It’s only a camera.

Very sad that the department does not have one qualified "exempt member" candidate. There very well might be a few in the rank of lieutenant or below, but LL and the Police Board will most likely not give them the time of day.

He did absolutely nothing wrong. Told the guy if he wanted a report made he would have an officer make the report. If not he had no business in the station so leave and quit bothering and harassing his officers
As far as clout, for a guy with clout he’s on 3rd watch in 007. He better talk to the clout about that. And they said he went off. You call that going off?
