So which is it? We get overtime or we don’t get overtime? We stop people or we don’t stop people with the coronavirus going on? The overtime in 312 was out of control and a huge reason why we have gone way over budget the past few years Since Lieutenant JC has been in that unit the overtime has been off the charts. But hey, give them the overtime. Not patrol, not tac teams, not detectives, gang enforcement is the exception. You know why they will listen to Holts activity demand? Because they know these 3 year wonders will sell their soul for the department covid or not and are too dumb to realize you are gonna give this crap to your family. So when you are told by a supervisor there is no OT remember there is OT. It’s all getting spent on working RDOs in gang enforcement. And there are several memos and emails from holt swirling around detailing the OT and activity. I’m in 312 and there’s not a chance I’m touching this OT or going back to work yet. I’ve got time on to know better. Let them dump me, I can get says in just about any district I go to.

Brown , your command staff allows officers to disregard grooming standards and wear uniform caps sideways or wear unauthorized baseball caps , hoodies while reporting to other districts . It shows lack of respect for supervisors where the officers are on a Surge Mission.

Well, a small mind would waste time on such trivial matters. And for any citizen offended by an outer vest cover, trying wearing one for 8 hours a day while in a squad car or standing at a crime scene in 95 degree weather and not having the option to adjust or give yourself some relief throughout the day, but hey worry about the fragile mind of the public instead of the health of the officer.

Unless I missed it, I never saw where Brown specifically mentioned the number 500 or specifically mention a 40% reduction or Brown uttering he could achieve a 40% reduction by engaging the force to work as one.
Did you start with the number 500 because it is near exact to the 2019 Chicago murder rate? Then you compared the number 500 to Brown's goal of 300, which factors to a 40% reduction?
