Summer vacation hasn't started yet, right? So this non-demonized creature should have been in school?
A 14-year-old boy violently carjacked a 75-year-old woman downtown on Tuesday afternoon, only to be caught about an hour later by Chicago police.
The victim was in a parking lot in the 500 block of West Taylor Street when the boy pushed her to the ground, battered her, and stole her silver Ford Escape around 2:15 p.m., according to a preliminary CPD report. EMS transported the woman to Stroger Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, CPD began tracking her car using the city’s network of license plate readers and caught up with the carjacker in the 1400 block of South Central Park Avenue shortly after 3:30 p.m., according to police. He reportedly had the woman’s car keys in his possession when officers took him into custody.
What kind of community teaches (either directly or by omission) that brutally attacking the elderly is ever appropriate?
