Another Drop in Crime?
At this rate, there shouldn't be any crime in Chicago at all. In fact, we should be exporting crime to neighboring states:
- Chicago police say new statistics available for the month of July show an overall drop in crime in the city and a decline that ends a four-month consecutive rise in murders.
Chicago Police Superintendent Jody Weis (WEES) said Monday that it was 19th consecutive month of lower overall crime. The Chicago Police Department found there were four fewer murders in July compared with July a year ago. That resulted in a 1.5 percent decrease in murders.
One category did see an increase. The department reported motor vehicle thefts went up 20.4 percent.
Nineteen months of crime reduction. Wow.
It's almost like the same guy counting Taste of Chicago attendance figures is operating in reverse!

We don't even begin to move towards Step 1 without first having an adequate amount of manpower to respond to the tidal wave of criminal activity that is going on here.

I've been a cop since 1978 and I've never seen anything like this. When you told someone to get off the corner or to disperse, they knew they could get locked up if they didn't comply. Now they snicker or tell you to go fuck yourself. Call the wagon? What wagon? Get the rest of the district to come over and take the crowd 3 at a time? Like everyone else isn't already stretched thin. And charge them with what? Loitering? Off the books. Disorderly Conduct? Unconstitutional. Professors Dohrn and Ayers have seen to it that socialism and public peace now fly hand-in-hand into the La-La-Land Utopia of the SDS.

I reported twice an ATTEMPED BURGLARY in a six week period to my garage with pry marks on the door both times. They recorded a criminal damage to property. That how they are changing the crime and lowering the numbers. J-Fled is our PINOCCHIO. lOOK AT HIS NOSE AND EYES.
I don't give a shit how many new officers they hire. Once the newbies figure out that they will get sued or may go to jail for doing police work the way it needs to be done at times, they will be nothing more than armed typists if they are smart.

If it takes three to six hours for a car to respond to something like a burglary or assault report the citizen is not going to wait and it is going to get coded out and when it happens again the citizen is not going to call the police because they know it is going to take the police forever to show up. Another thing, what was the amount of wasted man hours on these bullshit stats.????

Boy, that was fast. Which rev got to the bank first? For whose children? How many? Was this five-year-old the family's (or "blended family's") sole means of support? Who gets the checks? I'm having a little trouble here.

I got up for a second here -- just for a second -- and by the time I walked to the bathroom the radio in there (WBBM) was reporting that two girls, both under 10 years old, have been shot at 107th and Indiana, that one has died, and police are looking for two shooters on bicycles.

Get rid of all the illegals and you'd be absolutely astonished how much "wiggle room" you'd suddenly have in social programs -- not to mention in traffic, on the beaches, in the parks, in the schools, in the emergency room on Sabado noche, or just plain waiting in line at the store.
Even the trees would get a break -- they wouldn't have to work as hard churning out oxygen, not to mention the fact that there wouldn't be so many sh___ty cars with one headlight knocking them down all the time...

They were keeping crime down in 016 this way a long time before anyone ever heard of Weis. A forcible burglary -- with pry marks, as you say -- gets piddled down to a "theft from building" -- like you were some kind of idiot who left your power tools laying around in the hallway. Someone knock you down? Didn't happen. Someone strike you with a thrown object? Didn't happen. We're talking about our vacation plans. F__k you.

I can't believe that the stats are even 30% legit.
The same people who give out crowd estimates also give out crime stats. I would take a tip from a broken down horse player at Maywood Park race track before I believe anything put out by this police department.
