DO NOT Buy a Car from This Man

  • The owner of a North Side auto dealership was ordered held on $50,000 bond Wednesday on a weapons charge after police found a gun on his passenger seat and him apparently naked from the waist down inside a Bentley on the Near West Side.

Eugene Bernshtam, 43, of the 500 block of North Lake Shore Drive, is charged with unlawful use of a weapon, a felony, police said. He was also cited with indecent exposure, an ordinance violation, and for not having a city firearm permit.

Sounds suspiciously like he was hunting for something.

He exposed himself to considerable risk when he conducted that darn half-off sale!

But he has no worries about the arrest. He'll get cut loose in court because neither of his weapons were discharged!

"Eugene Bernshtam, 43, of the 500 block of North Lake Shore Drive..."

Getting into the "better" addresses here, aren't we?

Not better people -- just the location.

That Madoff character had himself quite a place too. What did he get -- 120 years?

What is this city coming to, when a seemingly wealthy middle aged man can't just take off his pants and get jiggy with a hooker in the privacy of one's own Bentley on the street, without being harassed by 'the man?' Tom Tunney, where are you lead the march against this kind of treatment?

If this person was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, and he was naked, where did he have the gun concealed? It must have been a .22.

Wasn't this a segment on COPS from a few years ago in Hotlanta, except it was a Corolla that ended upside down on a fence, not a Bentley...

It strikes me that the Supreme Court defeat of Chicago's gun laws has resulted not in more gun ownership, but merely with a new violation to charge people with!

This is the standard pretzel-twisted, ass-backwards, classic Daley style, as we saw with gun registration. Pass the law, then refuse to give out the forms necessary to comply [and make many guns "unregisterable"], then arrest, confiscate.

Has anyone out there actually seen this new "city firearm permit?"

The stuff of lore and legend...

Use to see Hosea S. hanging with the bad boys on the West-side back in the day. Wonder if he and Eugene will try and sure for something.

I was the arresting officer. Eugene was playing with himself and the Bentley was from his dealership. Dealer plates. He actually seems to like doing this in public but we were unable to catch him previously.

As for the 10:58 post, I had another unit drive in the car....hahaha

Defense lawyer related that his client was on a test drive with a potential buyer who fled the auto after robbing car dealer of his pants (wallet) dropping gun on seat. Dude was robbed, gets arrested, lawsuit to follow.

Is it such a crime to want to feel the soft supple touch of a Bentley's renowned hand-crafted Connolly leather seats upon one's bare buttocks? Especially with the heated seats set on High?

Why on earth would you get one? They dont' allow you to carry concealed out in public so why bother? Now they know you have guns, and once you register them, they will know what kind and how many. Don't miss your re-registration date or they will come a knockin'.

The 2nd Amendment means citizens do not have to subscribe to such cockamamie laws. I agree, and will never register my weapons. Registration is what happens before confiscation.

I went to a dealership and found a new "demo" car for sale at a $4,000 discount. Is buying a "demo" car a good idea?

Dealerships are always trying to unload "demonstrators" ("demos") -- cars that were driven by the managers or salesmen but are still legally new.

While a discount of $4,000 may seem generous at first glance -once you take into account the mileage thats is on the vehicle, the genital crabs and the funky ass stank the "demo" suddenly doesn't seem so attractive.
