Where are all the parents? Who the hell is teaching these kids to kill?
A Chicago teen has been charged in the March shoving death of a 68-year-old church deacon at a North Side 'L' stop.
Prince Watson, 17, was charged with murder and robbery for allegedly pushing Sally Katona-King down a flight of stairs at the Chicago Transit Authority's Fullerton station, according to the Cook County State's Attorney's Office.
The picture police paint is hardly that of a remorseful suspect. Investigators said he committed two virtually identical crimes after the woman's death, stealing iPhones from commuters at the Brown Line's Sedgwick station on April 17, and again at the Red Line's Clark and Division stop on May 15.

They are indirectly teaching the kids to kill by not teaching them to respect others and not teaching them self-control and to work for/earn what you want.
It starts early, when you teach them not to take a toy away from another kid when they're playing with it. And not to push or shove. And to wait their turn for both use of the toy and to get to the front of the line.
That isn't being done, and it has big repercussions when the kids get bigger.

I emailed the managing editor to complain that the first headline should read "Teen charged in murder of woman who was pushed down CTA stairs", since the victim Sally Katona-King was in fact pushed to her death and murdered, as the charges clearly state.
This is the response I received:
The reason we are writing “fell” instead of “pushed” is because, while her fall is not in dispute, whether or not she was pushed is. A court of law will determine whether the teen pushed her or caused her to lose her balance and fall.
The above response, besides being gutless, makes no sense. They need only report the charges, not make a determination as to guilt.
Why can't they at least report the unbiased facts?
Man, I can't wait to get to work today so I can drive around in circles in the deployed action zone also known as the box and stop people that aren't doing anything illegal or suspicious in front of their own homes after seven or eight other cars have stopped that very same person the very same thing. I am also thinking that we suckers who pay full price will see a rise in our bills to subsidize yet another perk for the richest poor people in the world.

Actually, from what I read...somewhere, I can't recall...this kid and his brother were raised by their grandma after their parents died when they were little. All the older siblings went to college, got degress, all good stuff. The grandmother made no bones about it when she said that when the boys turned 14, they started hanging with the wrong crowd and getting into trouble. She did NOT go on about how her baby was precious as pure and would never do this; she made it clear by her words and her actions - she was eating an ice cream bar whilst speaking with the reporter for the story I'd read - that she knows that those boys were troublemakers. She expressed remorse that someone from her family could have done such a thing...but not surprise and not defensiveness.
I think what likely happened here is that the old lady reared everybody as best she could and did a good job, by and large, with the older kids...but maybe by the time the boys got to be 13-14 years old, she was just too old/tired to do it. Bad situation for everybody. :(

Comcast is already charging me too bleeping much, considering I don't even watch sports, which is the most expensive programming because of players' high salaries (at least they work hard to earn it). Yes, it's a mixed income building. I've lived there for almost 6 years and pay full market price based on my income. Thankfully, I have never had the "pleasure" of meeting this POS in my time there. I have only had a couple of minor complaints since moving in, which speaks to the job building management has done. It's a relatively large complex with a diverse mix of people. With the exception of that sub-human, it just seems to work well.

Oh, my God. I'm so sorry. I didn't know. I was about to chastise him for murdering that poor defenseless senior citizen woman for her cell phone, but I didn't realize that he had an excuse. His mother died when he was too young to remember.
You are so right, my liberal friend. He should be allowed to rob, rape, murder and pillage because his mother died when he was three. And he grew up without her guiding hand to teach him that pushing a senior citizen woman of the cloth down a flight of stairs is wrong.

It must surely be my white privilege that is keeping me from seeing that he is the true victim here instead of the dead woman.
