- The Chicago Sun-Times has counted 38 separate shooting incidents since 6 p.m. Wednesday. Ten men were killed and 55 other people, including two young boys, were wounded.
- The attacks today bring to at least 74 the number of people shot since Wednesday afternoon in Chicago, with 12 of those victims killed.
The Trib numbers seem slightly more accurate since they cover the late Sunday night shootings on the south side. As far as we can tell, exactly ONE person is in custody for any of the 74-plus people shot.

How many of these shootings involved "assault weapons?" None. How many took place on private property? Or in bars? Not many if any at all - these were on the streets, in the alleys, on the sidewalks. How many shooters were ever properly trained or even qualified to own a firearm, let alone carry one? Quinn's strawman doesn't even stand up to the mildest breeze, but by golly, he's trolling for votes big time.

They didn't count the two murders in 005. Both were stabbings not shootings so they don't count.

Around 30 7.62mm casings were recovered on the scene and the popular theory is an ak-47. so I guess since there has only been one other assault gun shooting in the country I guess they can say assault gun shootings are up 100% just to scare people

Assault weapon has to be full-auto to qualify since it is by definition a marriage between a sub-machine gun and rifle. Was it full auto?

What about the guy who worked on the street for 25-30 yrs and is sick of dealing with the animals and going to court, etc and wants an inside spot to ride into retirement? I'm all for the political hacks & the commanders dollies and the 5 year wonders getting launched onto the street & also out of 35 th st. but leave the bid spots alone. Many of those Officers earned those spots (not all).
So who will get the pleasure of dropping a complaint number on Charlie Williams for not complying with the IG's request for info on the alleged savings (18 Million) when converting S&S to a grid pick up? Everyone on this job who has more than 20 years on (many with over 10 even) think they are entitled to have certain spots because they dealt with the animal. WELCOME to being a police officer. We had a vote of no confidence for Weis and he wasn't as bad as this douche bag. Truth be told Weis was better then to us. I know go ahead and call me Mrs Weis. That's how I feel. It's been a lot of places in River North and a steakhouse with a dark, intimate atmosphere and, of late, the Yacht Club. Above, someone said he's moved it out west, to the burbs, to avoid hassle.
It's funny how the "scum times" reports it as " incidents" and not people shot. I guess they are trying to help suppress the numbers in a new way.
