More National Coverage
Breitbart.com, one of the big conservative websites, gives Rahm the red carpet treatment yesterday, and manage to give an acquaintance of ours some coverage:
- No matter how Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Police Superintendant Garry McCarthy spin it by touting overall crime being down in the city, the numbers for 2013 are still horrifying.
The website HeyJackass.com, which keeps some pretty interesting data regarding Chicago crime statistics, reports that the city saw 53 homicides in August, with 41 deaths and 224 wounded as a result of shootings.
The August crime wave ended on a tragic note, with 11 people shot and killed over Labor Day weekend; more than 25 more were shot and wounded.
For September to date, there are already seven shooting homicides with another 29 people wounded. The city crime data portal shows that murders and shootings are down, but only when compared to 2012. When compared to 2011, the number of murders is almost identical. HeyJackass.com shows a total 309 homicides for 2013, and things don’t seem to be getting any better.
Almost 1,700 comments as we write - it'll be 2,000 shortly if it isn't already. And they even point out that 2012 is the outlying year - Rahm and McWhatever have to be biting nails.
30 Comments:
2012 was the year Mcnumbrain put his crime fighting philosophy in place. Everything since then has been damage control.
What can you expect from Rahm-a-lama Ding Dong? A Police Department that can't even handle routine street disturbances, teen disturbances, and barking Dog calls certainly can't be trusted to respond promptly and properly when more serious issues arise. Can't stop Minor B.S? You definately aren't prepared to stop Major B.S. hire a binch more Cops, Rahmmie, you incompetent Hack.

"#3) it was only about 6 months ago that he proclaimed, to tha media, that he can, "out-shoot 99% of the Cops in the CPD"."
Just because someone is a cop doesn't mean they can shoot.
Isn't he a Marine Vietnam vet? Probably fired his weapon more in a week than most CPD has fired in their career, including range time.

And just because he was in 'nam doesn't mean he can shoot.
The point is, if he's so "pro-police", then why's he touting himself AND talking shit about us???!!!
He's an arrogant asshole, and you are obviously one of his minions.
I told you they don't get it.
Gary, Rahm, Burk, Quinn, go right down the line. They think people are only paying attention to their bought and paid for 20th century main stream media propaganda outlets.
Social media is opening up a can of whoop-azz on their bullshit.
Case in point:.
Poland Confiscates Half Of Private Pension Funds To Cut Sovereign Debt Load
While the world was glued to the developments in the Mediterranean in the past week, Poland took a page straight out of Rahm Emanuel's playbook and in order to not let a crisis go to waste, announced quietly that it would transfer to the state - i.e., confiscate - the bulk of assets owned by the country's private pension funds (many of them owned by such foreign firms as PIMCO parent Allianz, AXA, Generali, ING and Aviva), without offering any compensation. In effect, the state just nationalized roughly half of the private sector pension fund assets, although it had a more politically correct name for it: pension overhaul.
By way of background, Poland has a hybrid pension system: as Reuters explains, mandatory contributions are made into both the state pension vehicle, known as ZUS, and the private funds, which are collectively known by the Polish acronym OFE. Bonds make up roughly half the private funds' portfolios, with the rest company stocks.
And while a change to state-pension funds was long awaited - an overhaul if you will - nobody expected that....

...and in the zero-one-nine it's like the Jerry Lewis tote board of crime. Just keeps getting worse and worse
It's official. Just-released information from the city confirms that August 2013 will go down as the single worst month for robberies in Wrigleyville and Boystown since publicly-available records begin (January 2001).
August beat out the previous worst month, June 2012, by at least two robberies.
And to think that August managed to achieve the worst-ever record in spite of the police commander and alderman's "saturation" of officers, "entertainment detail," and giant empty bus strategies.

The economy is not getting any better either in spite of the Wall Street stock market hype that is disconnected from reality of everyone else except the insiders
Homicides over the last five years ytd: 300,366,294,326,308
Total 1,594
Mean 318.8
Give us a standard deviation of 25.94
If you're not +/- 25.94 from the mean the variance is not significant, right?
You can't say crime is down, crime is within one standard deviation.
However, last year was way more than (318.8+25.94) now wasn't it!
Garry you're full of crap. In spite of all your initiatives. What you did accomplish tho is pushing all the crime into other neighborhoods.
lol...

I had quoted you about how 2013 is 4% higher so far then 2011.
And how 2012 was " aberration"
I believe he has said the spike in 2012 was in Feb- April then it was pretty even with 2011.
No matter what tiny and lost weekend say we are in a spiral going down
How will Letterman gloss over all of this when Emanuel is on Monday night?
The exit strategy is being activated......
SCC - HUGE day for us. Once the Breitbart piece showed up on Drudge traffic exploded. It made making updates difficult since the server had trouble keeping up with demand.
As always, thanks to you for letting us post our stupid little stats and getting the word out. Now the word has really gotten out.

Don't you have to be sober to legally shoot a gun!!!!
the police department will stop VRI on oct 31--- either the money is gone or they figure the weather will take care of the insane amount of violence that every chicago summer brings--- new strategy after new strategy and always the same results--- 2014 will be no different....
Everyone is goofing on 019. Could you even imagine how bad it would be without their current D.C.?
yes why doesn't our beloved mayor and mcpuppet ever disclose the amount of people shot not just homocides. or at least i never hear them speak of it. now those numbers are even more alarming.
Not to put down our guys who served in Vietnam but statistics show it took about 300+ rounds to kill one cong. Mcgland shot at street lights which to my knowledge don't shoot back.

I stopped watching Letterman months ago when he started this asinine anti-2nd Amendment piece every night called, Stooge of the Night.
What a piece of arrogant crap, any legislator who supports citizens’ rights is held up to ridicule. Haven't seen him in many months and I used to try to write Top Ten Lists.
Screw Letterman and Rahm both.
Chicago political corruption is a national joke.
PROBLEM: The politicians are shameless.
Whelp there goes more taxpayers onto the food stamp rolls wit ya'll
Companies warn of more than 700 possible Illinois layoffs
Looks like mostly those living wage manufacturing jobs too.
Oh wait! What's this? Layoffs in that much touted coal mining industry that Quinn was boasting about -- how coal exports were surging just a few short months ago. And healthcare workers that Rahm was boasting about too! So much for the shortage of skilled workers and companies with 100's of positions that they just can't fill bullshit.
Trickle-up Illinois poverty headed your way if you're not there already
GOOD TIMES: Weapons Violation on Halsted; 90 Minutes In Our "Entertainment District"
Here are just a few of the things that our grossly understaffed 19th district officers had to handle overnight.
Of course, all of this helps explain why the district was unable to assign radio calls due to a shortage of officers. This morning's Radio Assignment Pending (RAP) status took effect sometime before 2:30AM and it continued until 5:51AM as officers tried to deal with children entertainment seekers.
Since the few police officers that our district does have are tied up with antics like the following, the department is unable to launch appropriate responses to robbery, burglary, and even criminal sexual assault ("rape") calls. Offenders know that our district is unable to effectively respond to criminal activity. That's why the thugs come here. And they aren't going to stop coming here until they're given a reason to go elsewhere.
2:25AM: Huge fight at Clark and Eddy in Wrigleyville. Six units respond as the fight pushes northbound on Clark.
2:26AM: An off-duty police officer working security on Halsted Street calls for help with a person they've detained at 801 W. Roscoe, outside of Roscoe's Tavern. The combative offender is charged with a weapons violation as detailed in CPD case #HW442488.
2:38AM: Officers report a large fight on the corner of Clark and Sheffield. A woman is injured and seeks help at the nearby Taco Bell.
3:05AM: An officer reports making a battery arrest at 3500 N. Clark along the Wrigleyville bar strip.
3:11AM: A battery in progress is reported at 3407 N. Clark at Roscoe Street.
3:20AM: Officers assigned to a foot post at Belmont and Sheffield ask for a car to help them. Fights are breaking out in different places and the foot officers can't get to them all.
4:03AM: People fighting in the street at 739 W. Belmont.
4:08AM: A structure fire breaks out in a home at Sheffield and School. CPD case #HW442538.

Possibly because a new Sgts class and PPOs to take their place. Graduate on Nov 1?
SCC, Rahm has found a way to counter the bad press! He not only plays prominently in this documentary about 'the President's gatekeepers', but he gets the front page photo in the press release. Imagine that; nineteen surviving chiefs of staff, but HE gets the photo in the Hollywood Reporter. Ari's at it again.

They are such Elitist...as are most Politicians...that I really don't think it even enters their minds. As long as there are things to benefit them personally...they do not care about any public issues. This country is spiralling out of control with no reasonable solution insight.

Does anyone know why Father Phlager type basketball games are being played in the Hale Park field house gym (approx. 61st and Mobile) in the Clearing area? Was in the area during one and was surprised and upset at the peripheral activity around the park. Hale Park seems a bit out of the way as I am sure that there are facilities (either parks or public schools)closer to the homes of those playing basketball.
I can't believe I saw Tiny Dancer in an episode of Chicago Fire, boy is he busy!
Crime is not down. Its just folks don't want to waste their time to report it. Callback? Yeah when, two to four hours? Or the desk telling you, you can't make a report cause you're missing paperwork.
Politics impairs the ability to perform math correctly.
I think McCarthy is too young to have served in Vietnam..
