The "Cause" of Crime?

Not that we'd expect anything resembling actual investigative reporting from journalists in Chicago (who are busy pushing Rahm's narrative rather than doing an actual research), but instead of blaming police for rising instances of crime, how about cracking open a history book:
  • In a famous apocryphal story, [noted bank robber Willie] Sutton was asked by reporter Mitch Ohnstad why he robbed banks. According to Ohnstad, he replied, "Because that's where the money is."
Perhaps the reason certain neighborhoods are experiencing an massive uptick in carjackings is because, "that's where the nice cars are." Perhaps North Michigan Avenue is having more smash-and-grabs because "that's where the nice watches are." Maybe, just maybe, Wrigleyville and Boystown are having more robberies due to "that's where the new iPhones are."

And you don't have to be a rocket scientist to notice that if there are a bunch of police in the hood, there might not be as many somewhere else. Criminals aren't completely stupid - they can observe and evaluate a simple "risk-reward scenario."

The cause of crime is the lack of punishment. Crime is insignificant in places where criminal behavior is punished. End of story. Not a racial, ethnic, or stereotypical answer. It's just the truth.

NYAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!

"Perhaps the reason certain neighborhoods are experiencing an massive uptick in carjackings is because, "that's where the nice cars are...""

"Maybe, just maybe, Wrigleyville and Boystown are having more robberies due to "that's where the new iPhones are.""

Well Duuhh...

"Criminals aren't completely stupid - they can observe and evaluate a simple "risk-reward scenario.""

And may we add that it isn't so much that Dude Inc. is stupid
as Dude is a nihilistic, hind-brain powered, pleasure oriented,
instinct driven creature.

Rhyme.
Reason.
Rationality.

Will get you KILLED trying to apply such to them.

Overwhelming Retribution.
Pain.
Swift, Certain and Long-Lasting Punishment.
Fear.

THESE...

Are things THEY understand.

Something we incorporated in our
reading of the "Riot Act" during
our sojourn in Horner, Rockwell
and ABLA...

"If violence is the only language you
muthafuckahs understand, know that we
speak it fluently."

>A ghastly, unblinking eye aligned
behind the sights of a .45<

"We had better get on board because
this one here seems capable of doing
something bad to us."

The problem with Chicago is that not
enough decent, law-abiding, confiscatory
tax paying, upright citizens aren't
savvy enough in the ways of righteous
violence by which they can protect
themselves and who/what they hold dear.

"Only you disdainful, blue collar churl
Cops talk about that mean stuff. Nice
people don't do violence or get mean,
mad and fight back."

Yeah... Keep telling yourselves
that as m/fers come running up
your downspout and vaulting through
your bedroom windows.

Or crowding up in your vestibule with
you just befor the buzzy-door locks
and you're trapped in the vestibule
while juggling your purse mutt and
your door keys.

"We don't understand why you guys
are soooooo meeeaaan!"

As Policemen have been looking,
laughing and leaving in droves,
The individual citizen is going
to be even more responsible for their
own well being and safety on Chicago's streets.

Remember...
"Police Reform has to happen hard, fast and right now..."

Right?

There are a lot of causes of crime.
Attorney General Holder was correct. We will never, ever discuss what is the cause of the majority of crimes committed.

So why don't you set up some bait cars?

Better yet, wire them up so when the "Amish" try to open the door, they get zapped with 3,000 volts of electricity. Sort of like those ultra-violet bug zappers you see hanging in some stores.

Another variation would be to have it inside the car so that you would have them "zapped and trapped" inside the car.

Put some cameras in the car and you could make some good "Zapper" videos to put on YouTube as a deterrent for the crime.

Doesn't ANYONE think any more at CPD? Put me in charge of "the Car Jacking unit" and I would get some results.

The Mag Mile retailers should look to the ghetto for solutions. Here’s one. Jewelry stores on Milwaukee Ave. used to proudly display their expensive ware prominently in display cases in their front windows. Did this tempt the shitheads to try to steal it? Absolutely, but the jewelers were smart. They took a piece of Lexan, secured it against the inside glass, and the jewelry was still prominently visible, but protected.

Once, a woulld-be thief with hammer in hand decided to do a smash and grab. He swung the hammer, struck the glass, the hammer bounced off the glass, and the hammer claw struck him squarely in the forehead producing a large gash while knocking him the fuck out. Easiest arrest I ever made.

Tom Dart is the reason crime has climbed up...no repercussions for crime. The jail is like Pinocchio's Pleasure Island, you get to fuck smoke get high and not have to work. Free pizza for only the worse of the worse. Its the only jail where inmates refuse to leave the hole/disciplinary because its better than general population. They get out on the streets and are not scared to get arrested again.

Wrigleyville and Boystown are gone already. The savage element have successfully infected those areas. All the bars and restaurants that were worth anything have already closed or moved. There is nothing to rob or steal on the west side or south side so they have moved to where they can still profit from crime. Look at arrests in 18 and 19 over a week. All of the criminals are from the south or west side. It has been like this for the last few years. Look at the YouTube of the Halloween fight that's on the CWB blog. They are not from Wrigleyville Boystown. There are no clubs on the west or south side to attend. Walk or drive around Wrigleyville or Boystown on a weekend. Cars are parked filled with weed smokers and drinkers. People are walking around freely drinking without a cop in sight. After the clubs and bars close, people get their cars taken, iphones taken, pistol whipped. They are moving from those crimes to checking doors on homes. Now they will just walk in and rob people in their own homes. "we got gooks in the wire"

When evaluating risk and reward, don't forget that the Democrats in charge have eliminated going to jail as a deterrent. The democrats in Crook County are doing everything wrong as far as criminal justice.

You can't discuss a crime problem without discussing who is committing the crimes. You can't put X number of criminals in prison without putting an equal number of other criminals from race A, B, & C.
This is the liberal way of thinking. To prevent crime, liberals must first be ignored, so the adults can speak.
(And stop electing children!)

The tribune rahms pet printing this:

It seems like everywhere Trump goes even overseas near nk which is threatening us with nukes he talks about crime in Chicago! Notice though with all our political corruption, the bloodshed, murder and mayhem constantly nothing is being done! All the talk all the rhetoric and rahm the 50, the toni&Tommy&Kimmy show soldiers on committing federal felonies like with aiding and abetting illegal invaders and dare Trump to do something!

Many of us voted for Trump to "make Chicago great again" but it sure seems like the "big bad wolf" theory huffing and puffing and nothing happening!

President Trump come on send in the DOJ, like rabid dogs start at city hall-county building and get the real criminals, then assist the police we need help restoring morale and safety in this mayhem filled city! Carjackings everyday, extreme violence,a compliant media, recipes for disaster! the SOS Chicago is sinking fast send help, no more talk time for action is NOW!

God bless the police everywhere!

Not true. Do some research. In the 70’s, 80’s and up to the mid 90’s there were 13,500 sworn. During that period murders were always in the 700, 800 and in the 900’s several years

Criminals also evaluate risk reward in terms of where someone as their target will likely be armed and where they are likely to be disarmed.

Do you think criminals are not paying attention to the posted gun free zones?

You know you look at the story of the crazy in texas church and there is this:

n June 2012, Kelley escaped from the mental health facility in Santa Rosa, New Mexico, according to El Paso police documents. Kelley was picked up after the facility listed him as missing. The documents said officers had been warned that Kelley was a danger to himself and others and that he had sneaked firearms onto Holloman Air Force Base, where he reportedly threatened his commanders.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/07/us/texas-church-shooting/index.html

OK so he is mental problems, lets look at what rahm has done he has closed how many mental health centers here? How many "crazies" do we see on a daily basis? how many are locked up eating "pizza by Tommy?" All of them wandering around aimlessly who will be their next victim? This is more mayhem, blood caused directly by rahm and the rest of the cowardly 50 who draw huge sums of money and do nothing but boast and attack police at every turn! Wonder will the FBI ever start locking up the elected criminals the democrats are everything wrong with zero law and order initiatives!!

What causes crime, does it matter?
It's been going on since Thag stolt' a Brontosaurus shortshank from Atouk's cave while he was out hunting and gathering.
Let's get a a govmint grant and study what causes the current trend more definitively.
Gotta nail it down.
Can't go with rule of law or civil society old white men doctrines.
What causes crime to flourish?
No brainer, it's Democrats.

So what's most important benefit the feral urban predator can expect when interrupted and summoned to The KimmJongFxxx Restorative Justice Catch n' Release System?
- Not getting stopped and harassed for no reason that night.
- Not getting caught or chased ever again.
- Not getting jail time.
- Getting an I-Bond or court supervision.
- Getting to cut off a pesky nuisance ankle monitor.
- Getting pizza delivered at DartJail from the same working stiff they robbed.

Police philosopher Jugghead Special Ed and politicians like Rahm Emanuel are the root problem here.

Chicago is a Total Disaster.
