Merchants Make More Noise
- A recent rash of robberies on the Magnificent Mile, including one with thieves dressed as construction workers busted into a jewelry store. High-end stores with low-end looks along Michigan Avenue lately. But on Thursday Chicago police were visible and present. There’s even armed security at some stores, like Saks Fifth Avenue.
It comes after scenes like the one Wednesday afternoon when a group hit Sephora, Ferragamo and Burberry. On Sunday, video shows a smash and grab with 150 pieces of jewelry, gone in less than two minutes. Earlier this month, a $50,000 burglary at a Louis Vuitton store. There were 66 retail theft reports for the first three weeks of the year on the Mag Mile stretch.
Last year it was 59.
Some business owners said they are getting tired of dealing with more thefts. “I feel like we need a little bit more protection,” said Carmen Imbrogno of Na Hoku Jewelers.
Well, then you need to stop supporting democrats and kow-towing to their bullshit. If there is no punishment for retail crimes, then you are going to get more retail crimes. Everyone with a brain knows it.

1) Move the hell out of Illinois... someplace where Democrats haven't destroyed everything yet
2) Pay for your own private protection...consider the taxes a loss
3) Vote the Democrat shitheads out of office...

Just close and move those stores and restaurants from entire downtown area. They're losing hundreds of thousands of dollars a month from those thieves already. That and including high rental costs would be reason enough.
You don’t need more protection. You have plenty of protection. They aren’t coming to the stores beating the shit out of you. They’re stealing from you. And your states attorney allows them to walk free every time the police arrest them so they’re gonna keep coming back. If anything , you need protection from Kim Foxx.

There is a deluge of retail thefts in 001 and 018. Day and night they never stop. It is absolutely ridiculous that Fox does nothing to stem the tide. The merchants won’t touch shoplifters, are afraid to prosecute and only want us to act as security guards. No one wants to respond to thefts in progress calls anymore because they know it’s a waste of time. Ultimately the merchants will raise the price of merchandise so high to cover the losses that customers will stop shopping in their brick and mortar stores and they will eventually close. What happens when the stores close . . . tourism dries up, hotels struggle to fill rooms, restaurants have empty tables and city tax revenues go into the shitter. Good luck Ms Lightfoot.

If you want a sneak preview of this, drive down to Gary and take a good hard look around you, and you'll see what leftism did to a once thriving city. Better yet, there are plenty of videos on YouTube of beautiful Gary, Indiana... that's much safer than actually driving to that shithole city and risking getting your ass shot.
It's sad, because a lot of wonderful people live there, and they don't deserve this. Then again, 97% of them vote DEMOCRAT, so in a way they kinda DO deserve what they've got.

Don't have to shoot em ups. Anytime a strong arm robbery occurs the employees involved get free trips to the shrink. Then workman's comp gets to give them some PTSD money. Of course when there are casualties the shyters pounce. With Amazon and the like it's surprising these stores are still there. The patrons are just showing off to each other; not like they are getting good deals. At some point the personal costs for the shoppers will exceed the demand to strut and play Kardashian. And then the Gold Coast will look become the Skeleton Coast

Texas waives property taxes as well. Get a nice place with acreage, no tax on retirement, no property tax, and can always get a part time job as a Bailiff or a CO in a state that has, and regularly uses capital punishment. Not a bad deal all considered
