- A Chicago man who was one of three people involved in the armed carjacking of a Wheaton couple was sentenced Wednesday to 20 years in prison, according to DuPage County court records.
In a negotiated plea, Phillip Smith, 28, pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular hijacking and agreed to the 20-year term in exchange for prosecutors dropping other counts he faced, court records say.
Smith, previously of the 3900 block of West Flournoy Street, and two other men are accused of following a Wheaton couple to their residence on the night of Feb. 22, 2017. Smith and Carlos Moore, both wearing masks, allegedly accosted the couple at gunpoint in their garage and demanded the keys to the car. The trio left with the vehicle and were later able to elude police in a chase after the car was spotted. It was later recovered in a Chicago parking lot, authorities said.
We heard Crimesha files some sort of "friend of the criminal" brief, but DuPage laughed it out of court.

Iâm glad to hear that they are sentenced in Du Page county. Had it been in cook, crimesha would have considered county jail time as time served. Unfortunately she may win re-election because of the lakefront liberals who would consider it unfair to the Cabrini girl. We can only hope that the other candidates start playing hardball with her record.
Enjoy your short stay in custody, it's still Illinois, but you'll serve a good chunk of what's left of your worthless life in jail.

So some of our chicago beasteses decided to leave the jungle and go on a safari out in white bread wheaton where they did some bad things. No pizza party, no trip to navy pier, just a bus ride south for a very long time. You see crybabyeesha, that's how a state's attorney prosecutes criminals for breaking the laws of the state of illinois.
Nice to see that their county does the job for the innocent people, unlike where we live where the criminals are in charge of the states attorneys office. I live in Dupage County now after retiring and I have to tell you how well it is run. The Sheriff is an outstanding guy coming thru the ranks and they lock up bad people. Kim Foxx doesnt care about Cook County and is only committed to making the county just like Robbins, a big ghetto where the wild roam free while wearing electronic devices. So under minority leadership of Chicago and Cook County it is obvious where it is headed. I'm not prejudice, just eyes open wide.

The hood rats haven't figured out that it's not safe to act up outside the reservation. They come over to Indiana and learn that we still arrest folks for things like weed. We don't have a no chase policy and consider it great sport to chase a shoplifter or even a CPD commander, using stop strips if needed. Get arrested and have no bail money, no problem the county will keep you locked up until trial. No I bonds here but friendly bail bondsmen who will take your mama's car title or deed for collateral to get you out on bail. Miss your court date, the bail bondsman or the sheriff will locate you and let you know you messed up. One final thought, if you voted for any of those Democrat clowns who ruined Illinois, then please stay in Illinois and enjoy what you helped create.
