Our team reads hundreds of Chicago police reports every week. We can say with certainty that ShotSpotter alerts routinely result in the arrests of armed men—and they’re almost always men—after shots are fired in the city. This series includes cases we happened to come across during our work. It is not an exhaustive list of every ShotSpotter case.
CWB goes on to to cite a swath of cases where ShotSpotter actually guided police to the general vicinity (sometimes the EXACT location) of shots fired, resulting in many arrests, even if Crimesha later dropped charges.
The claims of "racism!" are obviously ridiculous and political. If Shotspotter didn't track gunfire, cops wouldn't be in the area looking for....people shooting guns. Which we assume, the lib-tards want so that children and felons of all stripes aren't....you know....shot?

That's only because of her refusal to prosecute. Perhaps she's confused about her title of "State's Attorney." Many places in the country call her job "Prosecutor," i.e. one who PROSECUTES criminals. Is that why she feels no obligation to take cases to trial?

Shot spotter almost always winds up in men being arrested. It is an anti male in nature. As a member of Al Bundy's organization No Ma'am, I say that we no longer use Shotspotter, which is misandrist in nature.

I told him that there were X number of murders in Chicago for the month of February. I asked him for the the rest of the state i.e. the other 101 counties. He would not answer the question. typical ass hat liberal.

Just had three youths attempt to steal a car from our parking lot from the other building. Neighbor foolishly yelled at them from 2nd floor. The miss understood youths fired three shots. Woke us up at 350am, shot spotter instantly had about 5 squads here searching. No one was hurt. Thank God. Police recovered three racist shell casings and got a statement from the victim.

Shotspotter is a strange concept. It saves lives and the people who are murdered the most don't want it in their neighborhood. The people who are murdered least don't have it. Bottom line is why pay for something that is saving the lives of the least wanted or needed people in the city. It is a waste of money.

In 2010 CPD recovered more than 20 shell casings at 23 shooting incidents which was about 1% of the total shooting scenes. In 2023 that number jumps to 386 incidents where more than 20 shell casings were recovered at shooting scenes, or about 16% of all shooting scenes. Only a person with a wooden head would fail to realize how valuable a tool shotspotter is to law enforcement.

Do you have skin dark enough to be seen as a person of color?
It’s not just recovering guns. It’s about recovering the shell casings from these guns. When you keep entering all of these casings into NIBN and then the gun is eventually recovered you can start tying together conflicts, what gang is shooting at who and which ones match up to which shooting or homicide. Yes they often pass the gun around and sell it quick, but for a month when you see that gun used in two shotspotters and two people shot all within a block or two you can tie that gun to a specific conflict for that time frame before you start seeing the casings matching in a whole different part of town.. then you know it changed hands. It helps.
What’s the problem? Removing Shotspotter will only hasten the positive effects of the ghetto self cleaning oven. Making your job safer and less stressful

If police and fire didn't have to respond to incidents involving black people, we would need maybe 20 police officers, two fire trucks and one ambulance.

They claim it's racist because they only put them in black neighborhoods. Well, maybe it's because they only put them where there's a significant number of shots being fired. Maybe if black people don't want those racist cameras and shotspotter in their neighborhoods, they should stop being such violent criminals.
