Crime is Down!
- The Old Town neighborhood saw another mugging this week—at least the 24th robbery of the year for that neighborhood, where hold-ups have increased nearly 300% compared to last year.
Around 9:45 p.m. on Thursday, a woman was attacked and robbed of her purse in the 100 block of West Eugenie, about a block west of the Clark-LaSalle intersection.
[...] According to city data, the Old Town neighborhood recorded 23 robberies through March 6 this year. During the same time last year, the area had reported only six cases.
And guess who the aldercreature blames?
- Alderman Michele Smith (43), whose ward includes most of Old Town, said earlier this year that the neighborhood’s increase in violent crime was due in part to the fact that juvenile offenders rarely experience meaningful consequences for their actions.

- On January 25, Smith wrote an email to constituents about the subject: “I have spoken with many of you when crimes occur near your homes or places of work. These conversations prompted me to research and question recent changes to the laws concerning juvenile offenders, sanitizing juvenile criminal records and new protocols for setting bail that seem to favor defendants' rights over public safety."
Smith revisited the topic on February 5: “more proof that crime must have consequences. A teen quickly becomes a repeat offender within days.” She linked to a Sun-Times report headlined “Teenage boy charged with attempted carjacking of retired cop arrested again.”
That's the sort of talk that doesn't earn you any happy calls from City Hall. In fact, it's downright hostile to the image and fantasy that Rahm and the Machine are attempting to sell. Especially in light of the mass-expungement rumored to be going on in the juvenile system. Records deleted, pictures erased, detectives unable to find rap sheets or run actual photo arrays due to no existing records.

I Was just told recently of a program, that if completed, wipes class 3 and 4 felonies from the record.
A sociology experiment that even a City College professor would give an F as a grade. Preckwinkle, Tim Evans, Foxx and Dart all have a hand in not only the juvenile, but the adult repeat offender. They get arrested and go to a court that Evans has grossly changed the bail rules. The offender either gets I-bond or home monitoring because the Chief Judge Tim Evans has instructed his Judges to not impose bail unless it is a big case. Dart doesnt have a clue on how to monitor the inmates in the program. He doesnt know how many are AWOL and when they repeat, nobody is holding him accountable. Because Preckwinkle, Evans and Foxx are there to assist all the way. The cases that actually go to court get charges knocked down or dismissed because Foxx has decided that only certain laws need to be enforced. We have the laws on the books already and if these 4 did their jobs then we would really see the numbers go down. We cant do anything immediately about Preckwinkle, Dart or Foxx, but we can keep an eye out for when the other Judges vote for Evans to remain the Chief Judge and put pressure on the Judges to replace him with someone else. Sociology experiments should be left to Sociologist and until the public sees this for what it is nothing will change. All 4 of these elected officials need to go and with 29% voter turnout in the last election it seems that John Q Public doesnt really give a shit.
This is all cyclical. The leftist party did this to our country in the 60s and we spent 20 years gigging out of the crime problem. We started gaining control on the problem and rhahm and his kindred leftist brought us right back.

I applaud the the businesses hiring these security folks. But have they real dealt with a mentally ill vagrant under the influence of God knows what?? Agg Veh Hijacking will get them an automatic 15 points and a trip to the Audy. The problem is that they’ll only hold them until the next morning for a detention hearing in the court. The court is now open everyday including weekends and holidays so that they don’t have to hold any of these feral “children” for longer than one night. It’s always only one night because the judge at every single detention hearing lets the kids go back to their parent, guardian, or whatever adult is willing to take them. The only way any juvenile in Crook County is ever going to face the remotest chance of punishment is if they’re charged as an adult. So short of killing someone, burning down a building, or committing some type of heinous CSA or Aggravated Battery that could be considered attempt murder, these fine youths are going home with no punishment other than being inconvienced for a few hours to a day at most. So next time you hard chargers are considering putting your necks on the line and risking your careers, freedom, assets, and/or health to arrest a juvenile, you might want to reconsider and re-evaluate your options. The juvenile arrestee is in almost all cases going to be fed, use the restroom, take a nap or cause trouble in the lockup, waste time and tax dollars in the hospital, be driven home, face ZERO punishment, and be a repeat offender. When he turns 18 his record will be auto expunged because the democrats think it’s unfair to have him start his adult life with a record. I hope this clears up everything for anyone that had questions about our juvenile justice system in Crook County.
