Three of the Forty-Four

From half-a-dozen emailers, we've been informed of three applicants for supernintendo:

  • Angel Novalez
  • Antoinette Ursitti
  • Chris Papaioannou

Should be a fun process.

UPDATE: CWB has another name:

  • Shon Barnes, the former chief in Madison, Wisconsin, and Seattle

They also have a quick summary of the drama the CCPSA was undergoing with the progressive commies trying to oust Sandra Wortham for being a highly qualified black woman who actually likes the police and America.

Stupid Question

Lies, damn lies and statistics.

Guess which one this article covers:

  • HEADLINE: How many white individuals were arrested in Chicago during Q2?

Yup, there's an entire article about this from two weeks ago:

  • Less than 10% Chicago Police Department arrests were of white individuals during the second quarter of 2026, totaling 224 cases, according to data published by the City of Chicago Police Department, in its Data Portal.

During this period, white individuals accounted for the third highest number of arrests in Chicago, making up 9.3% of the total occurrences. Blacks represented the largest share at 65.2%, with White Hispanics following at 22.2%. All remaining ethnicities collectively accounted for 3.3% of arrests.

According to the 2020 U.S. Census, Chicago is 32.7% white, 28.8% black, 29% Hispanic and 7% Asian.

Who gives a rat's ass what the population breakdown is? What's important - and what the media refuses to publish - is WHO IS COMMITTING THE CRIMES.

This is where HeyJackass.com earned boatloads of trust - because they kept track of what actually happened and didn't try to pass off this "proportional numbers" bullshit. If 90% of the homicide victims are black and 90% of the shooters are black, then why should anyone care how many white people got arrested?

What they should be bitching and complaining about is the clearance rate - why 100% of the murderers aren't being arrested....but they wouldn't do that while Crimesha was in charge. Now they're going to complain that CPD isn't arresting nearly enough white people and they'll soon be whining that O'Neill Burke isn't prosecuting enough Caucasians either, even though they aren't committing crimes at the same rate.

You don't hate the media nearly enough.

Tick Tock Crimesha

So are the walls closing in on the Soros-funded subversion of numerous prosecutor offices in blue-state / blue-city shitholes? Crooked City thinks what's happening in Philadelphia might spread here:

  • As finger-pointing among Philadelphia prosecutors now moves into a federal criminal investigation, anxiety may be growing for prosecutors who served under former Chicago state’s attorney Kimberly Foxx.

U.S. Federal Judge Paul Diamond has referred criminal investigation against Philadelphia prosecutor Larry Krasner and possibly some attorneys serving under him. In the wake of this referral, tensions are high among prosecutors, according to Big Trial journalist Ralph Cipriano.

“Over at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office, people are on edge because any day now, they expect to either get a call from the FBI, or get served with a summons to appear before a federal grand jury,” Cipriano wrote.

Is it time for Chicago prosecutors serving under former top prosecutor Kim Foxx to start getting nervous, as well?

Prosecutors in Philly, along with Cook County, Baltimore, Philadelphia and St. Louis, and urban counties such as Alameda (Oakland), Fairfax (Virginia) and Hillsborough (Tampa) subverted the law by unilaterally altering or completely doisregarding what was passed by the respective state legislatures, dramatically undercharging serious crimes and freeing repeat felons to offend again and again and again. This was called "progressive."

Go read it all - it's a good take on an issue that needs to be addressed, namely how democrats love criminals at the expense of all decent people.

Forty-Four Applicants

Seems about average:

  • Forty-four people applied to lead the Chicago Police Department, the president of the commission charged with picking CPD’s next top cop said Monday.

In 2023, the last time Chicago needed a new chief law enforcement officer, 53 people applied for the job. In 2020, 23 people applied to lead the police department, records show.

Applicants include current and former members of the Chicago Police Department, as well as candidates from outside of CPD, according to a statement from the Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability.

Further info:

  • The commission has until Nov. 12 to recommend three finalists to Johnson, who is running for reelection. Election Day is Feb. 23.The mayor will then have 30 days to choose a superintendent or ask for another slate of options before asking the Chicago City Council to confirm his choice.

So Conehead will have some say in the future Supe....who may only serve a few months before being fired by a new mayor? Makes perfect sense.

If we hear anything about the actual applicants, by name or by qualification, we'll let you know. Unknown if JCat actually put his name in or he just removed the FOP from having any sort of input into the process.

Um....What? Why?

This story is....unusual to say the least:

  • The man who shot and gravely wounded a 1-year-old girl inside a Chicago Lawn home over the weekend intended to pull the trigger on an electric drill but accidentally pulled the trigger on a machine gun in his other hand, unleashing a burst of bullets that struck the child in the back of the head, prosecutors said Monday.

Davaris Washington, 38, is now detained pending trial in connection with Saturday morning’s shooting that left his girlfriend’s young daughter intubated and in critical condition.

Sure....because people ALWAYS wander around with a "machine gun" in one hand and a cordless drill in the other.

  • A few minutes after midnight, Washington picked up a firearm with his left hand and a cordless drill with his right hand and walked into the living room.

As he approached the couch, which he was apparently in the process of repairing, Washington intended to rev the power drill in his right hand to see if it would be too loud to use with the sleeping child. Instead, he allegedly pulled the trigger of the gun, which was equipped with an auto-fire switch that allowed it to unleash multiple rounds with one trigger pull.

You know, they really ought to outlaw these "switches" as they seem overly dangerous and prone to idiots using them improperly.

Supernintendo Who?

Sent by a couple of readers:

That's a helluva rumor - Supernintendo?

He denies it almost immediately, but then this appeared in our email:

You can see how rumors like that get started.

Was he being sarcastic? Probably.

Is he qualified for the spot? Certainly not.

Would he get it? We've got a bridge to sell you, spanning some swampland.

Heavy Lifting - DONE

Many commentators have said they'd like us to compile a list of judges who should be denied retention. The trouble with that is we have advocated for the wholesale removal of ALL judges up for retention for the entire lifetime of this blog, and in fact, our entire adult voting life. That makes it simple. All judges are crooked and/or incompetent, so all deserve a "NO" vote.

But there are other elections that might benefit from someone doing actual research and weighing the pros v cons of electing certain people to certain positions. One of these elections is the upcoming School Board elections, and our friends over at the Contrarian have come up with a list of qualified candidates who are NOT beholden to the CTU, but rather (in most cases) the taxpayer and responsible spending on education.

These candidates would hamstring Prickwrinkle, Conehead and Davis-Gates from further spending increases and wasteful spending of scarce taxpayer dollars.

First, get yourself registered to vote. Second, go vote. Third, vote for these candidates listed and start getting involved.

"Guilty as Hell....

....free as a bird"

Who knew that hippie terrorist Ayers would be so prophetic?

  • A 15-time felon who has repeatedly posed as a police officer to rob people allegedly did it again on the Northwest Side last month, using a fake patrol car with flashing blue lights to stop three men, then driving off with their wallets after claiming he was going to his SUV to “run their IDs.”

Juan Rodriguez, 43, was the front-seat passenger in a Ford Explorer driven by Nicole Carnes, 40, of Bridgeview, shortly after 12:30 a.m. on August 18, prosecutors said. Carnes allegedly pulled up behind three men walking home in the 4800 block of North Monticello Avenue and activated the SUV’s emergency lights.

Thinking that a squad car was approaching, the men stepped aside as Rodriguez got out and identified himself as a police officer while wearing a dark vest, badge and duty belt with a handgun attached, prosecutors said. He allegedly told the men he needed to check their IDs and search them. While going through their pockets, he took a wallet containing about $1,200 from one man and another wallet containing about $300 from a second man, according to a detention filing.

He had gotten a TWELVE YEAR sentence for previous crimes back in 2020.

Last we checked, 2026 is NOT twelve years past 2020. It's not even ten years past 2020 which would have been eighty-five percent of a twelve year sentence.

But democrats love crime and their Parole Board keeps freeing recidivist criminals to enrich everyone elses lives.

On Bail? Again?

Once again....:

  • A Chicago father and son are facing attempted murder charges over an alleged rush-hour road rage attack in Uptown that left a driver needing more than 20 stitches. One of the men, prosecutors say, was already on felony pretrial release for burglary at the time of the attack.

Kenneth Menard, 61, and his son, Nicholas Menard, 37, are each charged with attempted first-degree murder, vehicular invasion and multiple counts of aggravated battery, according to prosecutors. Nicholas Menard was already on pretrial release in the felony burglary case when the alleged attack occurred, court records show.

The only portion of government saving money on these pre-trial releases is the kitchen at the jail. The rest of society continues to be victimized.

SAFE-T Act Losing Popularity

A legislator actually spoke out against it?

  • A suburban teacher and volleyball coach accused of secretly recording a student could not be detained under the SAFE-T Act, and that’s a problem that needs to be fixed, an Illinois state senator and former Cook County prosecutor says.

Dagoberto Diaz, 48, a teacher at Carl Sandburg Middle School and volleyball coach at Mundelein High School, appeared in Lake County court Wednesday on a charge of unauthorized video recording of a minor. He was released under pretrial supervision after a judge determined the charge was not detainable under the SAFE-T Act.

State Sen. Darby Hills, R-Barrington Hills, said the case is alarming to her both as a mother and a former Cook County prosecutor.

“I believe any crime involving the abuse or exploitation of a child should be a detainable offense under the SAFE-T Act,” Hills told The Center Square. “Allowing someone that has exploited or abused a child to be let out back on the streets is just unacceptable.”

Oh, she's a Republican? And a mother? That makes sense.

But it does highlight the always present divide between the leftists who love and embrace criminals  versus the sensible sane people who think punishment should be an option instead of hugs, kisses and actually sacrificing safety to the criminal element.

We're not as outnumber as you think, but we're certainly more apathetic. Stop voting for the crime lovers.

No Red Flags?

Again, could better background checks have prevented this?

  • A Chicago police officer has been recommended for termination after COPA sustained allegations that he sexually assaulted his then-18-year-old girlfriend, provided her with alcohol, and later accessed the police report identifying him as the suspect. Officer Alberto Rodriguez, 36, a Chicago police officer since 2014, is stripped of his police powers and assigned to a unit that takes police reports by phone at the city’s 311 call center, according to a police spokesperson.

The entire story reads like a bad Hollywood script that no one would have bought because for it to be believable, there has to be some element of truth in it. This one defies all of those norms....as in "how could someone hit all of these red flags without triggering some sort of overview?"

And these cases always seem to fall in that time when standards fell completely by the wayside, enabling a shit-ton of people who never should have been the police, get on the job and make everyone else look bad.

Who Made the Playoffs?

Both baseball teams???

  • Think about all the pieces that had to fall into place for the Cubs and White Sox to clinch playoff berths within two minutes of each other Thursday. That includes the Cubs overcoming all sorts of pitching challenges and the Sox overcoming years of ineptitude.

Yet there they were, celebrating simultaneously, the Cubs at home and the Sox in Kansas City. It was a surreal visual, marking only the fourth time in history that the teams made the playoffs in the same season.

Think about that, too. In more than 125 years of coexistence, the Cubs and Sox have played in the same postseason only three times.

So there's an outside chance of a 1906 repeat of a Cubs v Sox World Series. Certainly unlikely, but the odds makers on all those online betting sites must be having a great time setting the bar on this one - probably a million-to-one or something. Conehead's budget people are probably losing sleep trying to figure out the OT odds, too.

We'd risk a sawbuck on that bet for the payoff.

(still trekking through the technical side of things - this post was a test to see what's working and what isn't. apologies as we fix what we can while attempting to enjoy a busy personal weekend. when SCC says "family first" you know we aren't cancelling your days off and screwing you.)

Moving the deck chairs on the Titanic again:

  • DC Parham (Area 2) to Chief BOP
DC Stevens to 1st Deputy’s office.
    Cmdr Mannion to DC BOP
Cmdr Neckerman (Acting DC CCG) to DC of CCG
Cmdr Tate to DC Area 2 (replaces Parham)

More on tap, mostly commander slots, but they're still being "vetted."

Conehead Corpse Count Climbs

Alliteration is fun!

Anyone know when Conehed is going to reactivate some form of ShotSpotter so people (or folks) stop dying after being made into holey-men?

  • A gunshot victim lay undiscovered for nearly 30 minutes on a West Pullman bike path Monday morning before a passerby found him. The man, who remained unidentified Wednesday, was dead by the time help arrived.

The shooting happened in the 800 block of West 117th Street, where 911 callers reported hearing gunfire near Halsted Street around 8:06 a.m., according to CPD dispatch records. None could pinpoint where the shots came from, and officers who searched the area and spoke with witnesses failed to find the shooting scene. ShotSpotter could have provided police with a precise location for the gunfire even if no 911 caller knew where the shots came from, potentially directing officers to the trail where the victim was lying.

At 8:33 a.m., a passerby found the victim on the Major Taylor Trail. Officers said the man appeared to be in his mid- to late 20s, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Several shell casings were found nearby, confirming that the shooting occurred where his body was discovered.

Well, maybe not - he could have had a pocket full of expended shell casings that spilled out after he fell over. "Momma said he liked to collect shiny things."

Anyway, the Conehead body count (dead and wounded) climbs to ninety-four. Will it hit one-hundred before Election Day in February?

A New Rumor

Someone is claiming on assorted social media platforms that a new set of subpoenas arrived at the Hall just this week.

We've had a comment or two about it, some emails, screen shots, etc. Someone else claims they talked to a fed who said, "Yup, ongoing and expanding investigation, yadda yadda yadda."

Is it getting warm in here?
