Jim Backstabbitch sent out an email to all the Unit reps (click for larger view):
You mean these charges? (summarized for clarity - we have multiple copies from multiple sources)
There's also a list of receipts submitted into evidence backing the charges - we'll guess it's only a matter of time before someone forwards those to us, too.
We read over the By-Laws, and guess what doesn't appear?
We're also told that the Courts have often recognized that union leadership will claim "confidentiality" as a pretext to conceal wrong doing and malfeasance, which it seems might be happening at this very moment.
In any case, if the Board is attempting to keep the membership in the dark, rest assured we'll do what we can to drag them back into the spotlight.

Fata$$ is blaming the administration and a fake "insurrection" for a political assassination:
Just a reminder:
Did you see the US Congress yesterday? The Speaker asked for a moment of silence, and the howls from the dems reminded us that these leftist assholes couldn't stand for a kid dying of cancer, so they weren't about to shut their pie mouths for a father of two gunned down for daring to win arguments against their narrative.
This statement by Porkulous should end his national aspirations.
Someone is exploring the possibility of ending the City Residency requirement:
This is, of course, the longest of long shots. Illinois passed a Law a long time ago (decades and decades) that municipalities with a population of over one-million were allowed to set residency rules for their employees. It has been accepted practice since then and for some reason, the unions all went along with it.
But....
In every instance when similar laws have been challenged at the Federal level, the unions have won (Milwaukee and Pittsburgh if we recall) to name two. NYC has something like a "six-county rule" for their employees. Many other government entities have a "seasonable driving distance" in case of emergency call-outs.
And not to put too fine a point on it, we can name at least a dozen cops of all ranks who got caught living outside the city for years and managed to buffalo the City into zero disciplinary action.
We can also name numerous elementary and high schools where the number of suburban city stickers on teacher vehicles outnumber City of Chicago stickers on a daily basis. It's almost like different strokes for different folks. Funny how that works.
In any event, we neither recommend nor denounce this effort. Everyone should make their own choices, spend their own money, explore all the options. It's becoming far too dangerous and expensive to be tied to a city sinking under the weight of incompetence.
(WARNING: Any comment stating "you knew what you signed up for" will be summarily deleted. We all know, we all did, we didn't have to like it, and everything changes at some point with enough effort. If we followed your advice, we'd still be answering to the crown in England)

After the Rolex store daylight robbery, a bunch of commentators said that the helicopter had followed the suspects back to Englewood before six were arrested.
Now we get this story a few days later:
A black Chevy sedan led Chicago police on a chase throughout Chicago Tuesday evening.
Chopper 7 was over the chase just after 5:30 p.m. It traveled from the Northwest Side to the West Side. Police cars did not appear to be in pursuit for the entire time.
Um, then that wouldn't (technically) be a chase, would it?
But if they were followed, either by one of the helicopters or a drone (which we're told might be federal and based out of DuPage airport), then that would be a step up. No bad visuals of chases that go wrong, no cops injured, any crashes are directly attributable to the criminal.
This would actually be an intelligent move, a rare occurrence for certain. We just have a heard time seeing the helicopter up with any meaningful flight time given the maintenance issues they had a few months ago.

On August 28, 2025, Chicago Public Schools (CPS), the fourth-largest school district in the US, passed a $10.2 billion budget and is facing a $743 million deficit. Prior to the budget passage, the big three credit rating agencies each rated CPS General Obligation (GO) Bonds “non-investment grade speculative,” also known by the more pejorative title “junk bonds.” CPS bonds received a Ba1 rating from Moody’s and a BB+ rating from both S&P Global and Fitch Ratings.
The name “junk” refers to the risk that investors face that CPS will not make interest payments or repay the principal when the bond fully matures. To offset this risk, junk bonds offer high interest rates to attract investors. This is especially significant because GO bonds are backed by “the full faith and credit” of CPS, meaning the district promises to use all existing revenue to pay back the debt and, if necessary, raise new taxes to pay the debt.
And since this is Chicago, run by incompetent morons and people who couldn't pass Econ 101 with a open book and all the answers, this means a MASSIVE tax hike is coming.
Soon.
And taxpayers will get even less return on their "investment" in future generations of leeches.

These only pop up on our radar when it means there's a dead body lying out in public:
A man was gunned down outside the Archer Orange Line station early Sunday morning, and for ten long minutes he lay on the ground without anyone calling 911 about gunfire or his injuries.
The delayed response wasn’t just because a hesitant CTA worker waited ten minutes to call 911 after hearing the gunshot, but also because Mayor Brandon Johnson pulled the plug on Chicago’s ShotSpotter network one year ago this month. The controversial decision removed a system that once alerted officers to gunfire in the city’s most violent neighborhoods, even when people did not call 911.

Verifying what we've been saying for how long now?
Chicago Bears President and CEO Kevin Warren reiterated in a letter to fans the day of the home opener that the team is dedicated to building a new stadium in Arlington Heights.
"The Chicago Bears belong to more than just Chicago. We belong to the entire state of Illinois," Warren said. "We are at a pivotal juncture of the Chicago Bears franchise to build a new stadium, our future home in Arlington Heights, which will require zero state money for construction. This is the year to finalize our stadium plans so we can officially bid to host a Super Bowl as soon as 2031. This is the moment to begin moving toward that future, and we want you with us."
This will be one of the defining moments of Conehead's legacy. He didn't start the process, but he was there at its low-point.
Illinois and Cook County don't care - they'll still get their tax revenue. But Chicago won't.

Kind of ridiculous when you think about it:
A renewed search for a couple at the center of a 50-year-old cold case has led to the discovery of nearly 100 cars that were submerged in the Chicago River. Edward and Stephania Andrews were a married couple from Arlington Heights who disappeared on May 15, 1970.
[...] In another attempt to locate the missing couple, members of the Chaos Divers team jumped into the Chicago River last week in search of the Oldsmobile.[...] The team came to Chicagoland last week in an effort to help crack 10 local cold cases and was focusing on Edward and Stephania’s disappearance. However, their efforts to uncover answers inadvertently revealed another curious case.
During their search on the Chicago River, between Cicero and Diversey, Chaos Divers located nearly 100 cars sunken in the water.
Ninety-seven cars....so far.
If there are any old Auto Theft detectives reading, you might be able to improve the clearance rates by double digits.
And anyone working Cold Cases might want to see if any bodies parts are recovered when they start clearing the wrecks.

This interview is from a week or two ago. In it, J-Fled says Chicago could use the Federal help that is about to drop because cops are doing nothing but running from call to call....which prevents nothing. It turns out that CPD is merely that Lifelock "security monitor" commercial that was running a couple years back. All well and good - we were saying the same thing more than a decade ago and pointing out it was only going to get worse.
But now we're told that J-Fled did some kind of on-line seminar for police chiefs and cites his experience with the feebs along with his time spent playing the supernintendo. And during one of these seminars, he (allegedly) makes a stunning claim:
We have little reason to doubt this, though we would have guessed a bit lower. Over the past week, we've monitored a number of comments regarding calls to 3-1-1 going unanswered for hours....meaning all of THOSE low level non-emergency crimes aren't being logged at all. As we exited the department, we saw the daily sheets with multiple cars down, not to mention we still get comments and photos of the worksheets from concerned cops.
Do any readers have access to or a link to this seminar (webinar?) where this claim is made? Not that anyone besides us, CWB and The Contrarian might post about it.

Here's a Community Alert issued by the CPD recently (click for larger view):
You'll notice about halfway down the page, there is a good description of the offenders....in fact, it's pretty much exact.
But here's the Channel 7 report:
The suspects have been described as two females and four males who use a white van, a gray 2023 Chevrolet Colorado without license plates, a black Chevrolet Traverse with custom white rims or a white pickup truck.
One of the female suspects is about 5 feet tall and 120 pounds with brown eyes, and short, black hair. The other female suspect is about 5-foot-3 with hazel eyes.
One of the male suspects is about 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-7, around 140 pounds and between 20 and 25 years old. He wears a beige baseball cap, a white face mask, an orange and yellow vest, a light green shirt and blue pants. The second male suspect is about 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-8, 175-180 pounds and between 48 and 58 years old. He has short, gray hair and wears a black baseball hat with a red "B" on the front, white glasses, black mask, white shirt and white pants.
Criminals change clothes all the time. They even steal other cars so as to avoid detection. If only there was something that didn't change....
Oh well, here's another Community Alert (again, click for larger view):
This time, the description is a bit vague. But don't worry! Channel 7 rides to the rescue again:
Chicago police issued an alert Monday about a series of robberies downtown in which suspects snatched gold necklaces off victims. In each incident, the suspects targeted lone, unsuspecting victims on park property, and stole gold chains and necklaces from them.
The suspects are described as one to four men and women ages 20 to 40 and one male suspect in a black T-shirt, blue jeans and white gym shoes.
Golly, groups of men and women wandering downtown together, with a clothing description that probably changes every single day.
Anyone know why the media even exists any more? Besides ginning up fake outrage and driving the "progressive" narrative that only morons are supporting any more.

Those family plans that you had in the works for months and months, maybe even a year or more with thousands of dollars out-of-pocket? Yeah, you can forget about them:
Off topic but just so people know, Hein has taken a red pen to all the To/Froms for next weekend and denied everyone asking to keep their RDOs. In a lot of cases he has approved time due requests where people are out of town with flights and hotels but then denied their RDOs. So basically have fun in Mexico but get new flights and eat the cost of the hotel cancellation so you can be back in time to work your RDOs.
Or this one:
That used to be the great thing about police work and rotating days off - you knew AN ENTIRE YEAR IN ADVANCE what your days off were and could work with your family to schedule big events, like weddings!
So when the Department tells you that they care about you, your family, your mental well being - especially if you're doing a destination-type once-in-a-lifetime event - THEY'RE LYING!
Meanwhile, people are saying Hein is going to be overseas for the entire duration of days off that everyone else has to show up for?

Nearly two weeks after President Donald Trump issued executive orders directing the Justice Department to take steps toward eliminating cashless bail nationwide, Republican lawmakers are moving to codify those orders with new legislation.
Sen. John Cornyn of Texas and Sen. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee introduced two separate bills that would effectively punish states and cities with cashless bail laws by cutting off critical federal funding. The proposals, they argue, would “keep violent criminals off the streets” and restore public confidence in the justice system.
Cornyn’s “Keep Violent Criminals Off Our Streets Act” would amend the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to bar Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grants from going to states or cities that restrict cash bail for certain offenses. Those grants are the leading source of federal criminal justice funding, supporting everything from police departments and drug treatment programs to mental health courts and crisis-intervention teams.
The odds of Conehead and Porkulous defending the wrong side of another 80-20 issue are nearly 100% at this point....because they're that stupid.

Crime is down! Pinkie Swearsies!
Chicago police officers shot and killed a man during an early morning confrontation in the Austin neighborhood Saturday after a burglary crew rammed two squad cars and pinned an officer, according to CPD.
The chaos began at 3:44 a.m. when a CPD officer monitoring surveillance feeds in the Austin (15th) District spotted four males trying to break into a black SUV in the 5500 block of West Thomas Street. Three of the men jumped into a blue Nissan Maxima that was waiting in the street near an alley. The surveillance officer reported that the Maxima’s driver was armed with a rifle.
Within minutes, patrol units swarmed the area. Police said the Maxima’s driver intentionally rammed two marked CPD vehicles at Chicago Avenue and Waller Avenue, trapping an officer. That officer opened fire, hitting a male suspect, police said. Officers gave medical aid to the wounded suspect, who was taken to Stroger Hospital and later pronounced dead.
Literally days away from his upcoming rap album party, where not one, but TWO mass shootings were planned, all cut short by the demonization of these altar boys.
In any event, well done Officers and good riddance to the dead scumbag.

Meanwhile, un-demonized yutes with sledgehammers are walking the Gold Coast:
A brazen midday smash-and-grab burglary of a Rolex store on the Magnificent Mile ended with six suspects in custody on Friday afternoon, Chicago police said. An initial estimate valued the stolen goods at over $250,000.
Citing preliminary information, CPD said four males broke out an exterior glass window with an object around 2:37 p.m. and took property from within. The offenders fled on foot before entering a red Nissan SUV and fleeing southbound from the location.
Video recorded by a passerby, posted online Friday evening by @ChicagoCritter, shows one of the thieves smashing the store’s window with a tool, possibly a sledgehammer, and reaching through the hole to grab merchandise. The window next to him has a large gaping hole visible, too.
CWB has video and judging by the audio, it seems that filming the mayhem has become sort of a tourist-y attraction in its own right.

This pops up every so often, and is a clear example of why you ought to show up at FOP meetings to keep an eye on shit:
The City's position is to eliminate all post-retirement health benefits except for statutorily required benefits and benefits promised to a closed group of certain annuitants who retired prior to August 23, 1989. The City has entered into a collective bargaining agreement with the Fraternal Order of Police for the periods of 2017 through 2027; that agreement includes the CBA benefit for the full term of that agreement. At this time, other than the new collective bargaining agreement with the Fraternal Order of Police, it is not known whether or when the CBA special early retirement health benefits will be specifically eliminated, modified, or extended.
Therefore this year's reporting of liabilities is based upon benefits.
Someone addressed it in a different comment section, saying that if you retired under a current Contract, then they can't retroactively take things away - they can only screw the younger guys and gals moving forward. Which means whatever leadership is/was in power would have to sell you out....which is exactly why you show up at the meetings.
Maybe not every meeting, but enough to stay informed.

The First VP filed a number of charges (five we're told) against the President of the FOP. Under the Constitution, a committee of three is appointed by the First VP to investigate and resolve the charges. As the First VP filed the charges, he deferred to the Second VP to appoint the investigative committee of three.
The Second VP immediately appointed two of Catanzara's biggest and most vocal supporters to "investigate," so don't get your hopes up too high as the wagons appear to be circling into two different camps.
The First VP offered to drop the charges immediately if the President would produce receipts for a number of credit card charges that are the basis for the accusations, but was refused outright. Once these receipts are discovered and entered into evidence however....well, it's anybody's guess where it all ends.
We're also told that a bunch of the by-law changes have been rescinded due to a extensive backlash and possible lawyer phone calls from the State and National Lodges. We'd still heartily recommend that everyone who is able to do so, show up at the General Meeting on 17 September at 1900 hours, just to remind them that despite the general apathy, there is still a driving interest in people spending Dues Money in service of the membership, not the enrichment of the Board.

Even Dick "Turban" Durbin, who like to compare US troops to nazis says that federal troops "could make a difference" in Chicago:
On Wednesday’s broadcast of “CNN News Central,” Senate Minority Whip Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) stated that the National Guard “certainly could” make a difference in Chicago, but federal involvement should be “in cooperation, with the initiative coming from the local officials asking for help.”
Durbin said that putting the National Guard in Chicago “is an agenda to put troops on the ground for the mass deportation effort the president is trying to push through. That’s the real reason.”
Um, yeah. It's pesky 80-20 issue (closer to 73%-to-27%) that democrats are on the wrong side of. And if shit hits the fan, it'll be worse than that.
In the mean time, events are getting cancelled:
El Grito Chicago, the city's official festival for Mexican Independence Day, has been postponed due to fears about immigration enforcement activity, officials announced Thursday.
The festival was planned for Grant Park on Saturday, Sept. 13 and Sunday, Sept. 14.
In a message posted to their social media, El Grito organizers wrote, "It was a painful decision, but holding El Grito Chicago at this time puts the safety of our community at stake – and that's a risk we are unwilling to take."
So they're admitting their community is here in violation of Federal Immigration Law? Amazing.
No word if the RDO cancellation Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon will be rescinded to save the associated overtime costs and if the exempt cancelling everyone else's day off will return from his planned vacation.
There might not even be enough ILLEGALS here to support the parade:
Many Mexican nationals illegally living in Chicago are self-deporting even before President Donald Trump steps up enforcement in the Democrat-run city.
“Hundreds of unauthorized immigrants and asylum-seekers in the Chicago area have turned to Julie Contreras, a Waukegan pastor and activist who runs the nonprofit United Giving Hope,” according to Crain’s Chicago Business. So far, “she has helped repatriate some 200 undocumented immigrants and asylum-seekers,” the report says.
Foreign nationals are finding their incomes dwindling, customers for their shops and businesses thinning out, and family members worrying over the actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Crain’s reported.
More likely than not, there won't be a single incident....unless the "progs," transtifa and Karens decide to back the criminal element. Again.

The last budget numbers we saw, ATF was losing around 18-to-20 percent of it's funding. After crap like this, it should be 100%:
The millions of law-abiding Americans who have chosen to carry a concealed firearm are putting “everyone involved at risk,” the ATF announced this week in a tweet on X.
“Take a look into our world. This is a scenario @ATFWasington frequently faces when combatting violent crime and maintaining public safety. Many people attempt to conceal firearms on their person or belongings which puts everyone involved at risk. #MakeDCSafeAgain #ATF,” the ATF tweeted on X.
Per capita, far more people die after coming into contact with the ATF than a Concealed Carrier.
The ATF is one of the two federal agencies with definite fascist leanings, the other being the fbi. After Waco and Arkansas, they should have been shut down immediately, and the past four years under the drooling vegetable putting legit firearm licensees out of business was beyond the pale.

How far in the past? We weren't even alive for a single one of the cited instances:
These instances are supposed to what? Make us angry?
So what about these numbers?
A reader who is particularly adept at using an A.I. program to scrape data from the HeyJackass.com site came up with this table. These totals dwarf anything that the Slum Times cited from decades or centuries ago. Does that make anyone in power angry? Or embarrassed?
The Slum Times doesn't dare to interview some of the "Turn Chicago Red" people because they're black, they're sick of crime, and they're advocating for Trump to send actual help, not useless platitudes and money that only seems to make it into the pockets of the connected.

The Contrarian once again, with a pointed critique of the democrat "elites" tone-deafness:
It would be somewhat amusing to watch Governor J.B. Pritzker and Mayor Brandon “6.6 percent” Johnson mount a defense of their record on crime — if it weren’t so tragic. In fact, it is nauseating to watch these two poor excuses for men, one a billionaire governor who cosplays as a regular guy, the other a flailing mayor whose approval rating barely registers, standing shoulder to shoulder at a press conference telling Chicagoans with straight faces that everything is just fine on crime. They would have us believe that the city known across America as the “Murder Capital” is actually on the mend. They would have us believe that our own National Guard, our own troops, are a bigger threat to us than the super-predators who shed our blood daily.
The trouble for them is that the facts, those stubborn things, aren’t on their side, and Donald Trump is on the side of the people of Chicago.

When they keep the publicity to a minimum, people (and folks) tend to not notice they're pockets being picked:
Chicago drivers are getting slammed by new speed cameras that went live in June.
The 22 new cameras helped the city issue more than 91,000 speeding tickets over their first month of operation, according to a Sun-Times/WBEZ analysis of city data.
In all, city data shows 186 speed cameras issued more than 240,000 tickets in June, the most in any month in nearly three years.
If history provides a guide, the new cameras will continue to catch drivers unaware until they change their habits. Five of the city’s six highest-ticketing cameras in June were cameras that started operating that month.
The Sun Times actually broaches the question if the cameras are properly calibrated:
And then they revert to form, claiming speed cameras are racist:
Which we have pointed out, when you don't bother to maintain your vehicle properly or bother to pass a Drivers Ed course, you tend to be ignorant of the Rules of the Road and/or being able to read street signs.
But Conehead needs his money, so there won't be any real investigations.

Question for Conehead, Fata$$, the usual communists and media:
We're just wondering, because they seem to be getting fed up with your incompetence.
More than 200 people gathered in Garfield Ridge on Sunday afternoon, a sea of blue — including many wearing “Garfield Ridge Strong” shirts — for the unveiling of a statue in honor of fallen Chicago Police Officer Ella French.
Elizabeth French, Ella’s mother, was brought to tears as she and Officers Carlos Yanez Jr. and Joshua Blas — who were with Ella French the night she was killed — unveiled the statue in Wentworth Park, shortly before the crowd sang “Happy birthday” on what would have been the fallen officer’s 34th birthday.
Elizabeth French said the statue “captured the beauty and essence of Ella” and was “healing.” The statue sits near a dog park bearing the animal-loving officer’s name.
But like any parent who has suffered such a loss: “You’d rather have your child,” she said.
RIP Officer.
