• Cook County State's Attorney Eileen O'Neill Burke has eliminated the public do-not-call list and a related disclosure list that once flagged as many as 200 current and former Chicago police officers with documented credibility problems, replacing them with an internal system that leans heavily on officers to report their own misconduct. The change, enacted through a December 2025 policy, has alarmed defense attorneys who say they now sometimes learn of an officer's troubled history as late as the morning of trial.

  Burke, who took office in December 2024, overrode the county's previous Brady/Giglio disclosure framework in March 2025 before rolling out the December 2025 policy, according to a timeline laid out by The Chicago Reporter. That policy replaced the old lists with an internal “officers relieved of police authority” list and confidential Brady/Giglio files, and it now requires prosecutors to document misconduct, dishonesty, credibility findings, and social media activity. Under the new framework, the Burke administration relies more heavily on officers' own responses to a standardized Brady/Giglio questionnaire, and disclosures are supposed to be made as soon as practicable rather than through a running public roster.

  Her predecessor, Kim Foxx, took a very different approach. Foxx maintained a public do-not-call list alongside a separate internal disclosure list, and Cook County officers were notified whenever they were placed on either one, with 90 days to challenge that placement. In July 2023, Foxx's office publicly released a version of that list identifying 174 current and former law enforcement officers, including 120 Chicago police officers, who were precluded from testifying due to severe misconduct — a roster that included high-profile names like Jason Van Dyke, Ronald Watts, and Reynaldo Guevara.

Obviously, you wouldn't have Officers testifying that were convicted of crimes, but Crimesha took it to ridiculous extremes and seemingly reveled using this list to assist in not doing her job, i.e. prosecuting crimes.

The pendulum will never swing to anything resembling years ago (this being a blue-city blue-state shithole, but any movement back toward the center can be considered an improvement.

Nice Weekend Conehead

From the CWB website:

• Chicago recorded 42 shooting victims from Friday through Monday morning, including three people killed and 39 wounded, making it the city’s second-worst shooting weekend of the year, according to HeyJackass, which independently tracks Chicago crime statistics using official and open-source data.

  The weekend’s total trails only Father’s Day weekend, when 44 people were shot, for most victims in 2026. Both weekends topped Memorial Day and Independence Day weekends, which are typically among Chicago’s most violent holiday periods, the website found. Longer-term comparisons for the just-ended weekend are difficult because the weekend sometimes includes the three-day Labor Day holiday, which can skew the numbers.

And guess who's demanding accountability? The community "activists:"

• Saturday began peacefully in Washington Park, where former residents of the Robert Taylor Homes gathered for a reunion. By the end of the night, the event descended into violence.

  Bamani Obadele, a former resident of the Robert Taylor Homes, said the community cannot accept such incidents as routine.

  "This is not something we should embrace as a norm. This is unacceptable and we need to do better as a community to get out in front of these incidents," said Obadele of community health organization Acclivus.

As one of our regular commentators asked a couple times, "Where are the 'violence interrupters'?"

Didn't they get a million dollars or some outrageous total? What are the citizens of Chicago getting in return for this tremendous expenditure? Because we're not seeing a great return on this investment.

Who do they think they are - Chicago Teacher Union members or something? 

Crime is Equalizing!

From that always humorous site, the BabylonBee:

• In the wake of a mass shooting that left one dead and 14 wounded, Mayor Brandon Johnson touted the city's increased diversity of shooting victims.

  While speaking at the annual Hoopers 2 Heaven event in Grand Crossing Park, Mayor Johnson said he'd never been prouder of how people from all walks of life were now being shot, instead of just the usual black people.

  "This was a horrific event that was made a little bit better by the diversity of the shooting victims," the mayor said. "I just hope we catch the shooters so that I can thank them personally for what they've accomplished in our city."

  According to witnesses, two masked gunmen opened fire on a crowd in Washington Park on Saturday night. But unlike the typical gang clash, the gunmen fired indiscriminately into a crowd, not caring who they killed. Black, white, or brown — it didn't matter. Everyone was worth killing, regardless of their color.

  "Yes, people shouldn't be shot," the mayor added, "but if it's going to happen, it might as well be diverse."

Our darker sense of humor smiled.

"Presence" no Longer Deters Crime

Libtards are always outraged that regular people would want to defend themselves or loved ones against savages and demonized people (or folks). And then this happens and they start up again with the anti-gun stuff, ignoring the fact that this WASN'T regular law abiding citizens and it certainly WASN'T any sort of defensive use of a gun.:

• A shootout inside Washington Park left one man dead and 13 others injured Saturday night, according to Chicago police, putting it in a tie as the city’s worst shooting of the year.

  Chicago police officers were already in the area monitoring a planned gathering in the park near the 5400 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue when multiple gunmen began shooting around 11:37 p.m., police said. Officers immediately reported “nonstop” gunfire over their radios as people ran for cover.

The police were already on scene and it deterred exactly nothing, because the demonized know exactly what we were warning about and we've been telling readers for decades.

Days Off Canceled....Maybe

Looks like downtown is going to screw up the first two weeks of September with canceling days off and unspecified deployments?

• OT: has anyone read the Mexican days off cancelled amc message? Could they have made that any more complicated? My goodness.

Who has a copy? From what we've heard, there is some sort of "alert" about possible cancellations and notices about mass arrest procedures being on standby....which is a joke because the chances of a mass arrest incident are near zero.

CPS Numbers and Disciplinary Files

We're told these numbers are compiled directly from City of Chicago offices, press releases and various media outlets:

• Chicago spent $639.6 million on illegal-migrant care from August 2022 through 2024.
  
  
  In the same season, Chicago Public Schools faced a $732 million budget hole and layoffs.
  
  
  Only 43% of grades 3-8 were proficient in reading, 27% in math.
  
  
  Forty percent were chronically absent in 2025. Enrollment fell more than 70,000 in a decade, and the district still asked for a record $10.1 billion budget.
  
  
  So the city found two-thirds of a billion for people who skipped the line, and handed its own classrooms a deficit.
  
  
  If Chicago can find $639.6 million for arrivals, who decided the child who already has a desk waits in back?

It's good to see these numbers in a single spot instead of spread all over media outlets that don't cover the entire story and accept what they're fed by City Hall politicos like good little lapdogs. 

In the meantime, the Contrarian people noticed the release of CPS disciplinary files:

• Why is no one talking about the more than 700 Chicago Schools employees who have been disciplined for misconduct — including sexual abuse against students — in just the last year?

  The first news of this sordid state of affairs broke at the end of July when WTTW reported that more than 700 employees of the CPS had been caught engaging in some sort of misconduct, including harassment, financial crimes, and sexual abuse. And this huge number represents only a single year of disciplinary records.

  The CPS has nearly 43,295 employees, so 700 is nearly two percent (1.62 percent is the number here) of the total number of employees. That seems fairly high. Granted, zero misconduct is what any business or organizations strives for, but 1.6 percent is certainly not acceptable, and is higher than the average rate in the private sector, regardless.

  WTTW noted the number of disciplined CPS workers were counted between January of 2025 and January of this year. While most of the misconduct cases were low-level infractions, dozens were clear crimes including harassment, discrimination, fraud, and sexual assaults. Of the latter, 10 employees were either fired or had resigned over accusations of sexual assault involving students.

The Contrarian notes that this was reported by WTTW - an outlet that has viewership that (in many cases) is less than the blog during its heyday. No wonder the City goes there instead of places it might actually get seen. 

What Exactly is the Point?

More useless new laws in Illinois:

• New rules governing who can use electric bikes and scooters, including where and how fast they go, will go into effect next year following Gov. JB Pritzker’s signature on Wednesday.

  Pritzker signed Senate Bill 3484 which establishes regulations on “micromobility” transportation that include age requirements, speed limits and rules on where they can be operated. The bill takes effect Jan. 1.

  “Technology is evolving, providing expanded mobility options for our neighbors through the rise in popularity of e-bikes and scooters,” bill sponsor Sen. Ram Villivalam (D-Chicago), said in a statement. “But without clear regulations for these devices, we are seeing increased injuries and accidents — jeopardizing community safety.”

So now CPD is going to be allowed to pursue lawbreakers, ticket the drivers, impound and tow the vehicles, thereby increasing the chances of consequences and deterring criminal mischief??

  As of Aug. 19, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that COVID infections are growing or likely growing in 48 states and declining in zero states.

  COVID-19 activity is still considered low, nationally, the CDC says. However, rates are increasing quickly across the country, especially in the South and West.

Remember, there are still people stupid enough to fall for this shit, but if you don't have (A) a depressed immune system or (B) two or more comorbidities, you're chances of survival are about 100%.

Rumors starting up that Snelling will be back to help strip everyone for not getting this year's version of the Clot Shot, which reduce your chances to about 98.6%. 

Back in Custody

This guy tried to light a Molotov cocktail full of paint thinner at a crowded CTA stop during rush hour:

• The man accused of trying to ignite a Molotov cocktail at a CTA bus stop, then going missing for weeks after a Cook County judge denied prosecutors’ request to keep him in jail, is back in custody. Court records show the Cook County Sheriff’s Office arrested Marshun Kimber, the subject of three outstanding warrants, shortly after CWB Chicago profiled him in a report Wednesday morning.

  In case you missed our report, Judge Kelly McCarthy released Kimber on electronic monitoring on July 30 despite an assistant state’s attorney’s warning that he posed a danger to the public and could be a flight risk, according to a transcript of the detention hearing.

They'll hold him....but....:

• Not long after CWB Chicago published its story Wednesday morning, the Cook County Sheriff’s Office located Kimber and brought him before Judge Barbara Dawkins, court records show. She heard the state’s motion for pretrial release sanctions based on Kimber’s alleged failures to appear and imposed the maximum penalty under the SAFE-T Act: 30 days in jail.

That's it?

Maybe next time, he'll try to light a Molotov cocktail in the courtroom. 

Weren't These Illegal?

This is what happens when you stop effective traffic enforcement:

• A 42-year-old man was killed Friday afternoon when his ATV struck a Nissan Rogue in a collision in Ashburn, Chicago police said.

  The crash took place along the 8400 block of South Pulaski Road at about 2:08 p.m, police said.

  The unidentified man had been taken to Christ Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

  The Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating.

Should be a quick investigation, seeing as how the ATV was likely 100% being operated illegally and unsafely.

A while back, a reader sent us a social media video of someone driving an ATV down the street, speeding and popping wheelies....while driving directly beside a CPD squad car. It appeared to be a female and there was zero enforcement. She wiped out at an intersection, so we don't know if anything happened after that. Maybe someone has the clip?

But CPD hasn't been allowed to chase motorcycles or similar vehicles for decades now, because it's "too dangerous" to the asshole riding the bike. After all, they might crash, kill themselves or someone else, and then the City gets sued, so it's easier to just forbid the Police from enforcing the Law. That expanded greatly over the years to where any fleeing person isn't pursued lest the ghetto-lottery pays out millions. That expanded to foot chases, too, as we were getting ready to retire. 

Does anyone know if the Stop Stick Unit has ever deployed a single tire deflation device? 

NFL Weighs In

They obviously want the Bears to stay in Illinois:

• NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has weighed in once more on the Chicago Bears stadium saga, letting the world know Illinois isn’t out of the race just yet.

  Goodell spoke to NFL media members at the league’s quarterly meetings in Atlanta on Thursday, where he confirmed that he met with Illinois lawmakers and said the Bears’ Arlington Heights stadium site has not yet been completely ruled out.

  “There’s no specific timetable from my standpoint, other than we know that they are looking at the alternate groups — Indiana or Arlington Heights,” Goodell told assembled media after meeting with NFL team owners at a hotel. “We want to make sure that Arlington Heights and Illinois have an opportunity, as well as Indiana, to put their best foot forward.”

So the backroom negotiations continue.

Just out of curiosity - would the Indianapolis Colts have any say in the matter, like a regional restriction or something? 

The Grappler Deployed

Suburban Oak Brook is trying out a new tool:

• It took multiple police departments and multiple efforts, but law enforcement in the suburbs finally stopped a moving van that fled from officers this week.

  Oak Brook police successfully deployed their "grappler" device to stop the van.

  The device uses a bumper mounted net and tether to stop a vehicle.

  The chase happened on the southbound Tri-State Tollway on Monday night, police said.

There are some videos out there where the physics involved end up tearing the entire rear axle assembly off of the fleeing vehicle, which is hilarious....and effective.

It also means you'll never see anything like this in Chicago. 

Gun Collector Arrested

This guy must have a heck of a well-paying job to afford not one, but TWO "machine guns":

• Deral Willis made a splash on CWBChicago in 2023 when he tried to elude Chicago police by tossing a machine gun into the Chicago River from the State Street Bridge. Unfortunately for him, a Chicago Police Marine Unit diver recovered the weapon. Willis was ultimately sentenced to four years in prison in October, but he was paroled in May.

  Now, in a case of déjà vu, the 33-year-old is back in custody on a parole violation after prosecutors say he ran from police with a machine gun and tried to get rid of it by tossing it into a dumpster, just two blocks from the State Street Bridge. At least the cops didn’t need dive gear this time.

Imagine being that rich you can afford a "machine gun.".

And being able to get a second "machine gun" after being a convicted felon. 

This guy must be the ghetto Elon Musk or something. 

Officer Injured

A traffic crash:

• A Chicago police officer was among two people injured in a crash Thursday afternoon on the city's Southwest Side, a fire department spokesperson said.

  The crash happened around 4:39 p.m. at Archer Avenue and Nagle Avenue in Garfield Ridge.

  Chicago Police Department officials said a CPD squad car driven by an officer was traveling on Archer Avenue and was attempting to turn into a parking lot when it was hit by a sedan. The officer had a neck injury and was taken to a hospital in fair condition.

As has been cited here and elsewhere, traffic crashes are the leading cause of injuries to Officers nowadays. Be careful out there - many Officers are behind the wheel a majority of the hours worked. 

Remember This Thing?

There was absolutely no reason for this to be here, and there was ZERO reason to give away lakefront land to build it on:

• The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art will open Sept. 22 in Los Angeles after more than a decade of planning. Co-founded by George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, the museum will feature much more than Star Wars memorabilia.

  The five-story building covers 300,000 square feet in Exposition Park. Its 35 galleries occupy approximately 100,000 square feet and will draw from a permanent collection containing more than 40,000 works.

  Opening exhibitions will place more than 1,200 objects across over 30 galleries. The displays will range from ancient sculptures and Renaissance paintings to comics, photography, murals, children's book illustrations and cinematic artifacts.

Of course, it's curious how the Friends of the Parks managed to kill the Lucas Museum, but was strangely ineffective for the Sparklefart Monstrosity.

Google-Me Scandal

About time this turd got caught up in something major:

• Three officials within the U.S. Secret Service’s communications office – including the agency’s top spokesman, Anthony Guglielmi – have been removed from their posts and stripped of their security clearances as investigators examine how classified or sensitive information reached the press, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.

  The three were escorted from Secret Service headquarters in Washington, D.C., on Monday and formally designated “do not admit,” meaning they are barred from entering agency facilities, two sources told RealClearPolitics, which first reported on the suspensions. One of those sources said both the FBI and CIA are participating in the inquiry, pointing to a probe with more weight than a routine internal personnel matter.

Remember when he was the spokes-weasel here? He was a notorious liar from Day One and continued that habit of extensively lying regarding USSS coverage during the Drooling Vegetable years. Now he's suspected of being a partisan media leaker to undermine the current administration.

• The Chicago Archdiocese “sends a message that an accusation can punish somebody, whether you’re guilty or innocent,” said the Rev. Michael Pfleger, who was removed as senior pastor at St. Sabina during the abuse investigation.

Really moron? And what have you been demanding for years when the accused was a Chicago Police Officer?

• “This accusation and others will follow me to the end of my life; in my obituary, they’ll be talking about these accusations,” Pfleger said. “But what I do know is this: The God that holds me and the faith community of St. Sabina, who’s known me for 51 years, they know Mike Pfleger.”

And Pfather Pfuckface holds the entire archdiocese hostage to his cult of personality. There isn't a priest in existence who has stayed at one assignment for fifty-one years. Zero. 

• Pfleger blasted the archdiocese’s investigation process, calling it “unjust.”

  “The policy of the archdiocese sends a message that an accusation can punish somebody, whether you’re guilty or innocent,” Pfleger said. “The policy makes no room for the accused to be taken seriously or receive justice.”

  “I, nor any priest, should be thrown under the bus by the very archdiocese I have given 51 years of my life serving,” Pfleger added.

The tone deafness of this prick is amazing. We could write tons of posts about his two-faced bullshit....and have written more than a few. But being a lib-tarded left wing multiply accused chomo means never having to actually be accountable or apologize for having double and triple standards when it suits your message.

But don't worry - there are THREE separate warrants out for his arrest:

• On August 4, prosecutors filed a motion alleging that Kimber had, in fact, violated the terms of his electronic monitoring. McCarthy entered their motion and scheduled it for consideration on August 7. Judge Pablo DeCastro heard it that day and signed an arrest warrant, according to court records. Judge Martin Moltz signed another warrant on August 10. And Judge Barbara Dawkins issued another warrant on Monday, according to court records.

Someone tell Bailey no one want to hear about abortion, they want to hear what politicians are doing about repeat criminals being released into the communities to continue robbing, pillaging and terrorizing victims.

Because democrats ain't doing shit. 

And Speaking of Airports....

• Two men accused of smuggling over 750 pounds of the illegal stimulant “khat” into the United States by packing the stimulant into a dozen checked suitcases and bringing them on a flight from Africa to O’Hare International Airport, according to a state criminal complaint. Prosecutors said the substance cathinone, commonly known as khat, has “no acceptable medical use” and presents “a high degree of addiction.”

Golly, sounds dangerous. They're in custody, right?

• Mustapha Fisuru, 24, and Tiekoro Diawara, 25, are each charged with manufacture-delivery of a controlled substance and controlled substance trafficking. Judge James Costello denied the state’s request to detain both men.

So passports confiscated? Restrictions placed upon the drug runners? Or are the Courts just making them "pinky promise" to show up for their next appearance and not flying back to Asia?
